Lifts on display
Filed under: Business and Office, Friends and/or Family, General Life, shopping; Tagged as: business, constructionComments OffJeff and I were driving down Route 1 and saw a place that had just opened up that was selling used construction equipment. Jeff’s father is a construction contractor, so the big “man lifts for sale“sign out in the front of the building that was hanging off of one of the used scissor lifts piqued Jeff’s interest, and we pulled into the parking lot to check out the place.
Jeff and I entered the sales office and asked the man inside for one of his business cards, telling him that Jeff’s father might be interested in buying one of his used scissor lifts for sale. The man was happy to oblige, and told us that he was expecting delivery of two more lifts later in the week. It was close to closing time, and close to the start of rush hour so I suggested to Jeff that we hit the road and be on our way before we got stuck in a rush hour delay. Jeff used his cell phone to call his father while I was driving back to the office to let him know about this place we found. Hopefully they will find a deal that they can work with.

That Darned Phone
Filed under: Business and Office, Friends and/or Family, Politics, technology; Tagged as: attorney, business, money, nephew, technologyComments OffThe disturbing phone calls keep coming in today, I’m about ready to turn the phone off for the rest of the day. I was on my way out the door when my eldest sister called all upset about her son being arrested last night leaving the local Moose Lodge and is now in need of a good Cincinnati DUI Attorney which will be near impossible right now due to the Easter holiday.
I told her to use the Internet and Google “Cincinnati Attorney” and see what she could come up with that way since I don’t know a Cincinnati Lawyer personally that I could refer her to although I did live in that area for several years. Since she was so upset I decided to take a look for myself and found a website of http://www.attorneyscottrubenstein.com/ that looks like they might do the trick for them and sent her the link via email and then sent her a quick text to let her know what I had found and to wish her best of luck.

Time is Money
Filed under: Business and Office, Computers and/or Internet, Money, shopping, technology; Tagged as: business, costs, money, shoppingComments OffTime is money. This is specially true in the business world. A company does not want their employees to waste any time. “Time’s a wastin’” is the same thing as “Wasting money” in the corporate world. In this worsening horrific economy, everyone and every business are struggling to make ends meet. That is why it is even more important to find the best deals on equipment and supplies. There is a website called officedeals.info that is designed to help the consumer (whether a private individual or a business) find the best online deals, promotion codes, coupons and discounts, for office supplies such as Vistaprint business cards, software, computers, office furniture, and back-to-school supplies.

Playing Big Money Games
Filed under: Business and Office, Computers and/or Internet, General Life, Money, technology, Travel; Tagged as: business, costs, gas, oilComments OffThe oil industry is playing games with the American consumer. They say that the prices are high because demand is high. However, I was reading an article on the Time.com website that indicates that the demand has decreased significantly because the prices are so high. And because the demand has decreased, the refineries are making less gasoline, causing a deliberate shortage, to keep the prices artificially high. The increasing costs of fossil fuels will make it harder for people to travel for business OR for pleasure! I think this is just more proof that the United States needs to develop alternative fuel sources so we won’t have to depend on fossil fuels at all.

Knowledge Is Power
Filed under: Business and Office, Education, Friends and/or Family, Money, technology; Tagged as: business, education, family, nephew, taxesComments OffWe got word today that my nephew succeeded in passing the ea cpe requirements he needed in order to keep his job as an enrolled agent this year. Times are tough for everyone these days and it wouldn’t be cool if he lost this job just because he didn’t do the enrolled agent continuing education that is necessary to continue working with people and their tax situations. It has been nice having someone in the family that has been able to help so many of us with our tax questions, concerns and our returns, every family should have one.
He is a good kid, or I guess I should say young man. He went through some wacky years but seems to have been able to pull through them all and is doing very well for himself. I sent him an email letting him know how proud I am of him and that I want to take him out for a celebration dinner this weekend. It’s been a while since I’ve seen him and a good one on one dinner will be nice.
