The oil industry is playing games with the American consumer. They say that the prices are hight because demand is high. However, I was reading an article on the Time.com website that indicates that the demand has decreased significantly because the prices are so high. And because the demand has decreased, the refineries are making less gasoline, causing a deliberate shortage, to keep the prices artificially high. The increasing costs of fossil fuels will make it harder for people to travel for business OR for pleasure! I think this is just more proof that the United States needs to develop alternative fuel sources so we won’t have to depend on fossil fuels at all.

I really enjoy travelling, which makes my job ideal for me. However, I have been reading that there has been an 80% increase in reported kidnappings in Mexico, which makes me think that perhaps Mexico is not a good travel destination at this point in time. I’ve been reading an article in the Time.com website about the increase in Mexican kidnappings, it appears that many kidnappings are going unreported because the authorities may be involved in the kidnappings in the sense that they are the ones doing the kidnappings! Even when the ransoms are being paid, the victims are being killed! This is a sad state of affairs!

Rooftop tickets for the Cubs
Filed under: Business and Office, Entertainment and Fun, Food, Friends and/or Family, General Life, Sports, Travel; No CommentsOur office is going to have an annual retreat coming up in a few weeks and we have bought some Chicago Cubs rooftop tickets for an evening’s entertainment during the retreat. I’m really looking forward to attending that event. The rooftop tickets are to the Ivy League Baseball Club, which has its facility across the street from Wrigley Field. The Ivy League Baseball Club rooftop was established in 1914, which makes it the very first Wrigley Field rooftop. The Ivy League Baseball Club rooftop is endorsed by the Chicago Cubs. The rooftop is located at the center of right field. It is closer to the game’s action than a lot of the seats inside the stadium! The Club boasts that its location has the best view of the game of any or the Wrigley Field rooftops.
The food items on the menu are classic ballgame menu items, so you don’t have to “miss” the great game junk food by going to a party on the Rooftop. It has been recently renovated; I’m curious to see what they have done to it. They accommodate from ten to two hundred guests on the rooftop. I’m really looking forward to the event, it sounds like we’ll have a great time!

Sports
Filed under: Business and Office, Entertainment and Fun, Food, Friends and/or Family, General Life, Sports, Travel; No CommentsI enjoy watching sports with my friends when I get the chance. One of the advantages of traveling as much as I do is that I get the chance to see a lot of different teams play in the different cities that I go to on business! My girlfriends is NOT a big sports enthusiast, so when I go on a business trip without her I try to take in a game. I love baseball, hockey, football, basketball! I love the junk food at the stadiums, and I especially love those Dallas Cowgirl cheerleaders!

When I got to the trade show, I was taking a break from our booth and walking around the show, taking in all of the other trade show booth displays. It was very interesting, seeing the great variety of displays. Some were obviously homemade, and very “shoestring budget” - very crude and unimpressive. There were some, however that I liked a lot. I was talking to the vendors and asked them where they got their displays. The ones that I liked the best were always the same answer - The Godfrey Group. I’m going to suggest to my boss that he check out The Godfrey Group online and order some of their products for our next trade show that we participate in.
