Last night Teri told me that a friend of hers, Brenda, is planning on coming over tomorrow for supper and wants to talk to me about setting up her own blog. She was hoping that I would be able to explain to her everything that she needs to know about starting her own blog from buying a domain name to picking out a web hosting company and loading word press for onto her blog.

Although I appreciate the vote of confidence that I get from that, sometimes I get upset when people expect me to be the all knowing the answer man. I just don’t like the pressure! So I need to freshen up my knowledge and read some FAQs about web hosting and review the procedure for loading word press before Brenda comes over.

OK, I can honestly say that I now have a favorite website that has totally sparked my interest, big time Brick House Security has the most interesting variety of today’s security products that technology has produced that can be sold to the general public. Last night I stumbled onto their website at brickhousesecurity.com and found myself simply fascinated with all the security and security related products that they have listed there. I have always been interested in these types of items. I’ve heard that in Washington D.C. they now have a Spy Museum that I would really love to visit some time. As a matter of fact I think I’ll see if I can find the website to that museum and give it a look see.

So check them out if you have an interest in products like the very popular Keyloggerhardware, which is a wonderful and powerful tool that is designed to provide you with certain important information about computer activities. I understand that it is very simple to install and use and is a must if you have kids using the Internet. I’ve never really known much about Keylogging so it was good to see and read more about it there. They have merchandise for law enforcement agencies, also for businesses (big or small) and our government, along with a good amount for the home and family to utilize. GPS tracking, hidden cameras, wireless detectors, pepper spray, mace, safes, spy cameras, child locators, stun guns, spy gear and so much more to be found here folks.

Over the weekend we had some relatives come by for a few hours on Sunday. We were expecting a snow storm, but got company instead. It was a nice visit, their kids were well behaved as long as they had a piece of technology in their hands. Surprisingly enough both girls had no problem find girl games to entertain them while we adults caught up on old times. Both girls enjoyed showing me all the cool easy girl games that they had found at http://www.easygirlgames.com and each one had a favorite that they insisted on showing me.

Ten year old Kathy’s favorite is a kissing games, while 6 year old Katie’s favorites are the dress up the dolls games. Today’s version of paper dolls I’m guessing, certainly easier and faster than the old fashioned ones that the girls played with back before the Internet. I really was impressed with the variety of games that they have to offer young girls these days. Did you know that Pac Man was designed to attract the female population, a piece of trivia that Kathy made sure that I was aware of. So if nothing else came out of the unexpected visit I now know more about girl games that most guys my age.

Most of us have wanted to own and drive the same cars as our police officers get to drive, am I right or what? My good buddy in Florida has got the chance to own a 2003 Ford Crown Victoria Police Interceptor Edition that is for sale at a Tampa used cars dealer. He found it online and sent me the link to the place and the car and the video that they have about this V8 with less than 80,000 miles on it and it’s fully loaded. Check out the video from their video blog:

The Internet has certainly made shopping for New and Used Cars as much simpler task to tackle these days. I’d be lying if I didn’t admit to being a bit envious of this guys find. I really do hope that he gets the Credit Approval that he is now waiting patiently for and that he gets this unique cop car before anyone else jumps on it. A car like that isn’t easy to come by. It has so many extras and goodies on the thing that it would take too much of my time to try and list here, but you can check it out and see for your self the type of vehicles that they have for sale down Tampa Florida way.

From time to time when I upgrade my WordPress blog I find that the wordpress themes that I have used in the past don’t work well anymore.  In a way I find that to be a source of annoyance.  I get comfortable with my themes, and so I like to stay with the one that works.  I imagine you’ve heard the phrase “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.”  Well, that’s how I feel about just about everything in my life.  That’s probably why I’m not a famous inventor! So I end up changing my theme with great reluctance.

But for those of us who always like to improve on things, there are plenty of great themes to pick from.  Some themes you have to pay for, but the best free wordpress themes are simply awesome as well.  You don’t have to pay an arm and a leg to get a really great theme.  For those folks who are just now thinking about starting to blog and want to use WordPress, it is always a good idea to make sure that the hosting site is wordpress friendly.  I was thinking about buying a new domain for Teri to use and was looking around to see if I could find a list of the top 10 wordpress hosting companies.  I was pleased to see that the hosting company that I already use was on the list!

Although I have not used any other type of software for my blogging purposes, I have to say that the WordPress has been extremely satisfactory in every way.  I cannot imagine any other type of platform could make it any easier!  I will admit that I’m still learning a lot about its features!  I’m sure that there are plenty of techno-geeks out in cyberspace that look down their noses at us novice bloggers, but I think that as long as everyone is having good clean fun, well then we should make room for each other, novice and expert alike.
