I use the MSMoney software program to track all of my expenses and income. When I receive a bill, I enter it into the bill section of the program, and it helps me to keep track of when bills are due. I also enter in all of the income that I receive. It helps me to forecast how much money I will have in the future.
If you are looking into buying a software program to help you with your personal finances, I highly recommend it. It is very user friendly.

Backing up computers
Filed under: Business and Office, Computers and/or Internet, General Life, Shopping, Software, Technology; No CommentsIt wasn’t very long ago that Teri and I bought a couple of new computers. Our old computers were well over ten years old, so it was more than time to replace them! You know that “they” say that a computer is obsolete as soon as you buy it! Well, we two computers that were very, very full of files, and now we had two new computers that were almost empty! We didn’t know what files we wanted to transfer from the old to the new, so we decided to buy a Portable Drive to copy all of the files from the old computers onto the portable drive, and then use the portable drive to copy the files we actually needed to be actively using onto the new computers.

What was great about the portable drive was that it was a lot less expensive than we thought it would be, and it was a USB and all we had to do was plug it in, the software downloaded automatically and it worked seamlessly. It’s really small so we keep it in a desk drawer and we use it for backing up the new computers as well! It’s really a great investment!

Learning about computer viruses
Filed under: Business and Office, Computers and/or Internet, Education, Shopping, Software, Technology; No CommentsI was reading the antivirusware.com website that is full of articles about computer security and viruses. I found it to be very informational and I learned a few things about phishing and worms that I didn’t know before! In addition to educational articles, the website also reviews several different Internet Security software programs, and offers the reader the opportunity to download the different programs (including the Norton Antivirus download) right there from the site. They are not free downloads, but they are reasonably priced, and they have discount coupons and offers to help defray the cost.
With so many hackers out there, trying to invade our computers through the Internet, I think that having a good firewall and anti-virus program is essential.

My sister sent me an email with a link to it to see a cute little video she made using the elfyourself.com website. It’s a website that is only “up” for a short period of time during the year. It is sponsored by an office supply store. You can go to it and upload photos of yourself and/or family members into it and the wizard puts the faces on little pre-loaded elves that do a variety of cute dances. Last year I saw it a few times and there was only one dance available. This year they have three more dances available. Cute and funny as heck! Good for a belly laugh!
