Being a home owner is a never ending challenge. Last night I found that the dryer isn’t running properly. It’s an older model, bought second hand so there is no warranty on the darn thing. Looks like I’ll be spending some time this weekend working on it. If I can’t get it up and running properly by then I’ll be looking for a new one.

Address Plaque Issues
Filed under: Computers and/or Internet, General Life, Health, News, Real Estate, Shopping, Technology, Travel; No CommentsMy sister-in-law has been giving me some attitude lately concerning my address sign which is older than dirt at this point. She saw a show on TV which was referring to our emergency personnel having difficulty finding the right place to respond to when called for assistance. I’m sure that at night it would be even more of a challenge.
So she is urging me to get off of my butt and go online and start looking at the variety of address plaques and numbers. She sent me the link to justaddressplaques.com the other day and I’ve spent a bit of time looking around the place and seeing what is out there that might tickle my fancy. I never realized how many varieties there are these days, but I shouldn’t be surprised I imagine. Variety is the spice of life. LOL
It makes sense to get a decent address plaque. My biggest concern is that the pizza delivery person find my place in a timely fashion because I like my pizza still nice and hot!

Right now you can save an additional 5% off by using the promo code of summer5 at glasstilestore.com where you can find just about any type of tile that you could ever want or need. The weight of tiles can be pretty heavy so by them offering free shipping on all orders says something about them right off.
Tiles have made a comeback the last decade or so. There are so many varieties of tiles, that most people wouldn’t even think about and you can see them all there at the Glass Tiles Store’s website. They have bathroom tiles, pool tiles, kitchen tiles, subway tiles, backsplash tiles and so much more to check out there. They also have a 365 day no hassle return policy and they accept PayPal!
The glass mosaic has always been my favorite tile. One day I’ll have it all together and have an outside pool designed with the best looking glass mosaic tile all around, looking good all year round. I’ve always wanted an outside pool, one with a separate area for the heated jacuzzi area would be perfect. You would most likely find me there every night and each weekend!

We just might have a decent weather weekend coming up. It has been a couple of months since we have been able to do anything outside and enjoy it due to the extreme weather that we have been blessed with this summer. So if it really is nice out I’m thinking that hitting a few of the better outside flea markets that are on the outskirts of town. It is good exercise, I always run into people that I know and I know several of the regular vendors that set up at these places so it is a good social experience, besides possibly finding a treasure that I can’t live without and fit in the car!

One of the things that Teri and I love about autumn is the opportunity to shop for sexy Halloween costumes for Teri to wear to costume parties. We try to go to several costume parties a year. Obviously Halloween is a great time to buy lots of different types of costumes!
Some of the parties we go to are for adults only, and they often have costume contests, so sometimes we go as a coordinating couple. Naturally my costumes are a little bit on the conservative side, compared to the sexy cop costume or sexy pirate costume
that Teri likes to wear, but I enjoy letting the men envy the fact that Teri is coming home with me after the party!I also like to go all out in decorating the house for Halloween. We have a casket with a plastic skeleton in it that the lid opens and closes that we put in the front yard, and a lot of fake cobwebs. We hang orange holiday lights around the windows, and put cornstalks around the mailbox. I used to carve a lot of jack-o-lanterns by hand, but too many of them got smashed in the past few years for me to want to take the trouble to do that again. So we’ve started using plastic ones that are already carved. I nail them to a bench that I put beside the front door. Those babies aren’t going anywhere!
We have a motion detector hooked up to a light and the sound of a barking dog near the house and the cars so if someone comes to the house after “lights out” (with bad intentions with soap bars or bathroom tissues) the light comes on and the barking dog scares the little varmints away! We always give out good candy, but sometimes the older kids go out later just to raise a little cain!
