Did you know that anyone can go to Freeforeclosureblog.com and find all kinds interesting and free information on Real Estate Owned Foreclosures or REO Foreclosures as they are referred to these days. There are so many losing their homes due to foreclosures and many other people taking advantage of the low prices that these lost homes are selling for and buying them up and turning them over for major profits. Sites like this one helps folks with Free Foreclosures and all that goes along with this process.
So with that said if you are looking for Free REO foreclosures or know someone who is looking, I would certainly recommend taking a look at what this site has to offer, for free mind you. It doesn’t look like the economy is going to turn around any time soon and now is the time to buy. I hate the fact that people are profiting from other people’s loses in these extremely hard times, but I guess that has become “The American Way” chasing that all mighty $$$.

I like listening to my aunt tell me stories about her life. She’s only in her mid-fifties, but she has some good stories to tell nonetheless. Like the time that she and a group of friends decided to “TP” a neighbor’s house and unbeknownst to them all her parents watched the whole thing!
One of her stories has to do with moving 800 miles on her own. She used to work for a company that allowed transfers from state to state. She was single and had a pet dog. She had determined that she wanted to move from Virginia to Maine because she had gone on a skiing vacation with her boy friend and decided she liked Maine enough to move there in search of being able to ski more often. Her boyfriend had relatives in Maine and thought he would be fun to move there with her. So she put in a transfer request.
A week before the transfer request was granted her boyfriend broke up with her! But she went to Maine without him, not knowing a single soul. Fortunately she had been given the name of the Maine Senator’s field representative to call and ask for help with the move. That woman was so nice; she invited my aunt to stay with her while she found a place to live! So my aunt recruited her brother (my uncle) to help with a a U-Haul and they drove from Virginia to Maine. They met up with the field representative and spent the night. The next morning the field representative took them to her office and then sent one of her assistants to take her looking for apartments for rent. It was a real challenge; especially since no one wanted to rent to a single girl with a dog!
But believe it or not, by the end of the day they had found the perfect place! The next day she moved in and paid for an airplane ticket for her brother to fly back home. My aunt stayed in Maine for 29 years after that, but that is a another story!

There is a lot of home and property improvement going on all over the neighborhood. With all the extreme heat that keeps coming at us all summer long there isn’t much going on during the middle of the day when it is at it’s hottest, but boy oh boy first thing in the morning and each afternoon the place is really buzzing with all kinds of work and activity going on all around us. Not complaining about the noise mind you, I’ve been doing the same thing after making myself sick from the extreme heat it just isn’t worth it.

Gotta Love The 80′s
Filed under: Entertainment and Fun, Environment and/or Green, General Life, Home and Garden, Real Estate;Comments OffFinally a day that was acceptable to be outside doing labor intensive yard work. With all of the rain that we had to deal with for the entire Spring season, there is a lot of us that didn’t get the usual outside spring cleaning and yard work that is required in order to have the yard and the gardens ready to enjoy for the summer months. After the rains started easing up we immediately got slammed with days in the 90′s and 100 degrees mark, which is entirely too hot for me to get a lot of outside work done. A little here and a little there and what seems to me not a whole lot of anything getting accomplished to my standards.
So today it stayed in the 80′s and I got a good amount of stuff done. The garden is now ready for planting. I can’t believe that it is in the middle of June and the garden is just now ready to go, usually it is ready to go by the dreaded date of April 15th. While most people are standing in line at the Post Office in an effort to get their taxes in the mail I am usually knee deep in our nice rich soil, getting filthy dirty and loving every minute of it. I can only hope and pray that this type of weather stays around for as long as possible, there is still plenty to do and July 4th is right around the corner. We always have a 4th of July party. Nothing big, but we always have a blast, so the yard needs to be in tip top shape by then.

I’m glad to see that window flower boxes and window plant boxes are making a coming back, from what I can see around the neighborhoods. I have always enjoyed the look of a well kept window box. It’s the ones that are old, dirty, broken, unkempt, full of trash or weeds that really look so God awful and trashy. The ones that I really hate to see are the ones that are still installed but are only being used as an ashtray and are filled with cigarette ashes and butts, it just doesn’t seem right. But then, I don’t like seeing trash or cigarette butts anywhere except in the proper receptacles. I’ve always been that way. I don’t like or respect a litter bug.
The house that I grew up in had window boxes that my mother took such pride in keeping up and looking nice all year round. My mother worked so hard inside the house and outside as well. She loved gardening and yard work, it got her out of the house, into the fresh air and she loved getting her hands nice and dirty while making our house and yard a place that neighbors envied. It was a great house and yard for a family to live and grow up in. Once in a while, I’ll go by the place and see what the new owners have done to it, but it always depresses me to see the changes that they have made to it throughout the years. It doesn’t even look like the same place. They even took down the window boxes a few years back.
