I spent about a half hour this morning checking out the different weird news stories.  It’s a good way to spend a few minutes, reading about out-of-the-ordinary occurrences, like the guy who was trying to break open an ATM and ended up getting hurt and needed to go to the hospital, and about the guy who escaped from jail, only to return that same night to ask to be let back in, and about the priest who was arrested for jogging in the nude.  I think I’ll be checking out that site again – very interesting reading, and a good way to take a break from all of the “usual” news stuff like politics and the stock market and the economy and the war.

I’ve been reading conflicting reports on why drinking bottled water is a bad idea. Some reports say that if the bottled water gets too cold the plastic will leach toxic chemicals into the water, some say it will happen if it gets too hot. Besides the fact that all of these plastic bottles are causing havoc in our landfills, it may be a good idea to cut back on our relying on bottled water as much as we have been doing for the last decade or so.

I do so enjoy razzing my kid brother every chance that I get, I mean that is what big brothers do with their kid brothers right? Last weekend we all had a nice dinner at our parent’s house and the kidding and harassing didn’t take long to begin, but to be honest I wasn’t the only one, we all carry one with each other at these family functions.

My kid brother is a real sports buff and he has been talking a lot about this Melanie Collins who is this good looking blond Sports and Entertainment Host that is getting so popular here as of late. So of course I had to start in on him about his blond fetish that has been going on for as long as I can remember since he discovered the opposite sex years ago and telling some stories that I’m afraid he wasn’t so happy for some of the other family members to hear. I have to admit that she is a real good looking young woman and I can see why they would hire some one like her for all that she does for the sports fans. You can see for yourself, I took a few minutes and looked her up online and found some great pics of her to send to him.  LOL

It is true, you are never too old to learn. I have to be honest I had no idea that there was such as thing as an order fulfillment or a product fulfillment industry and probably wouldn’t have known if I hadn’t been spending some time cruising around online for a bit last night before turning in. I ran across a site for a company, AMS fulfillment, where I learned that there is indeed a need for this type of service.

I would have spent more time reading about it but the wife started in on me about getting prepared for the up and comming hurricane threat that has everyone so freaked out. So I had to sign off and run around the house gathering up all the things that are required for a scare like this one. After assuring her that we had it all covered we settled down in front of the TV for a bit, watching The Weather Channel to see how things are progressing. It always freaks me out that there are so many people that refuse to evacuate at a time like this, it just doesn’t make any sense to me. As I stated – you are never too old to learn, so I wish that this strong willed folks would eventually learn and certainly not the hard way.

Looks like we are in for a long weekend folks.

I’m hearing that we are going to be seeing lower gas prices here in the near future. Actually I have noticed that they have been dropping just a bit, saw a sign for $3.29 yesterday, something that we haven’t seen in a while. Word is that we might even see it drop down to the $2 mark. I won’t be holding my breathe and I’m sure that they will at least rise once more considering Labor Day is right around the corner and the price ALWAYS goes up right before a major government holiday.
