I am very excited about moving this summer. I am happy here, but I think the change is going to be good for our family. We will be closer to our family, which is a huge bonus to this move! I think it will be good for my kids to get to start over and make new friends at their new school too. They seem to have made friends with a few kids that I think are bad influences and I am ready for them to make new friends. This move might just be the thing that they need. I am also picturing it making them closer to each other, because at first the only people they will have to play with is each other. I have the fondest memories playing with my brother the summer we moved to a new town, because we didn’t have any friends yet. I am trying to get everything in order for our move. I have us signed up for Bounce Texas and have gotten all the other utilities ready to be hooked up the day that we move in.

Well, today went by rather easily considering it was April Fool’s day. Someone at work put salt in the sugar dispenser; that irritated a lot of folks! And it appears that someone switched the decaf and “high test” coffee carafes around. A couple of “whoopie cushions” scattered around the office, got a few guffaws here and there. The best trick was that someone put a rubber snake in the desk drawer of the manager that gives everyone the most grief. Of course, I did not participate in any of these – I want to keep my hands clean, but I have to admit that I did laugh at the results of the jokes! The worst joke played on me was someone telling me to look at the beautiful double rainbow outside, and there wasn’t one. So I made out ok, all in all. At least there weren’t any rubber snakes in my desk!

Sometimes having bad credit is a result of erroneous reporting at the credit bureaus, and that is an easy thing to fix if you know how.  What’s not so easy  is fixing bad credit if it is a result of you not paying your bills!  But you really should check your credit reports for accuracy.  Three years ago I checked my credit report and found a lot of mistakes on it – there were other people’s debts on there that were clearly not mine!

I can not for the life of me figure out why they have three separate credit reporting agencies. One day I will take the time to research and find out where that whole idea came from and why. It just seems to me that someone, some where, with the proper type of authority that it would take, would get rid of two of them and only have the one. I don’t know who that person would be – but who ever it is would become very popular and well loved and appreciated by so many people for the effort.

One of the things that has become a higher priority recently for me is keeping the family valuables safe from burglars. Several homes in the neighborhood have been burglarized in the past couple of weeks, and it is very unsettling to think that when we get home from work in the evening that we just might find our house had been broken into and some of our valuables had been stolen. I think that the biggest issue, though is how violated people feel when they realize that some stranger had just been in their house, uninvited, and going through their personal belongings. I was reading an article about fingerprint safes on the SafesAtoZ webpage and I’m thinking about investing in one of them in the near future.

Several years ago my sister’s house was burglarized when she was at work, and she was so upset that she ended up renting out her house and moving to a new place in a gated community. Feeling vulnerable and violated is a terrible thing, and I hope that no one else in my family ever has to experience something like that again.

When I got an email from Michelle up in Maine that her son just got a new Apple Laptop as part of the state of Maine’s program that gives each seventh grader their own Apple laptop I thought that was a wonderful program! I think that will help the kids in Maine to better compete with the more sophisticated school kids of the big city states. I don’t know especially why the kids were given Apple laptops other than the fact that the governor negotiated a good deal on the Apple laptop computers, but who are we to look a gift horse in the mouth! I do want to find out if there is any kind of discount program available to buy Apple Laptop Batteries when the kids are going to need them.

I think that it is awesome that Maine even has a program like that in place, and I have to wonder if the schools in this area are just as advanced and progressive as the state of Maine was, or if the state of Maine has a big advantage over the rest of the schools.
