April Fool’s Day – 2012
Filed under: Business and Office, Entertainment and Fun, Friends and/or Family, General Life; Tagged as: April Fool's, humor, workComments OffWell, today went by rather easily considering it was April Fool’s day. Someone at work put salt in the sugar dispenser; that irritated a lot of folks! And it appears that someone switched the decaf and “high test” coffee carafes around. A couple of “whoopie cushions” scattered around the office, got a few guffaws here and there. The best trick was that someone put a rubber snake in the desk drawer of the manager that gives everyone the most grief. Of course, I did not participate in any of these – I want to keep my hands clean, but I have to admit that I did laugh at the results of the jokes! The worst joke played on me was someone telling me to look at the beautiful double rainbow outside, and there wasn’t one. So I made out ok, all in all. At least there weren’t any rubber snakes in my desk!

Time is Money
Filed under: Business and Office, Computers and/or Internet, Money, shopping, technology; Tagged as: business, costs, money, shoppingComments OffTime is money. This is specially true in the business world. A company does not want their employees to waste any time. “Time’s a wastin’” is the same thing as “Wasting money” in the corporate world. In this worsening horrific economy, everyone and every business are struggling to make ends meet. That is why it is even more important to find the best deals on equipment and supplies. There is a website called officedeals.info that is designed to help the consumer (whether a private individual or a business) find the best online deals, promotion codes, coupons and discounts, for office supplies such as Vistaprint business cards, software, computers, office furniture, and back-to-school supplies.

Congrats to Julie – New tech Job
Filed under: Business and Office, Education, Friends and/or Family, technology; Tagged as: job, network, technologyComments OffA big congratulations goes out to Julie who has landed a new tech job! She’s one of the top level network administrators for a research company that has offices in more than a dozen companies. Julie has really impresses me, I remember when she was talking about going to school to learn tech stuff, I had not thought she would go through with it.
But she has – she’ applied herself, done tons of homework and is continuing with school even though she has landed a top notch job already – good for you Julie!

Free Medicine Samples
Filed under: Business and Office, General Life, Health, Money; Tagged as: free, medicine, money, samplesComments OffI’ve noticed for a very long time that when I go to the doctor’s office, if he prescribes a medicine for me, that often he will provide me with a lot of free samples of that medicine and I like getting the free samples of medicine because it saves me a trip to the pharmacy, and because it saves me quite a bit of money. My current health insurance is pretty crappy, but it’s better than not having any insurance at all, but it could be better! So I appreciate the free samples a lot.

Playing Big Money Games
Filed under: Business and Office, Computers and/or Internet, General Life, Money, technology, Travel; Tagged as: business, costs, gas, oilComments OffThe oil industry is playing games with the American consumer. They say that the prices are high because demand is high. However, I was reading an article on the Time.com website that indicates that the demand has decreased significantly because the prices are so high. And because the demand has decreased, the refineries are making less gasoline, causing a deliberate shortage, to keep the prices artificially high. The increasing costs of fossil fuels will make it harder for people to travel for business OR for pleasure! I think this is just more proof that the United States needs to develop alternative fuel sources so we won’t have to depend on fossil fuels at all.
