I like to read a news website called ananova.com, because it often has interesting and quirky stories that I can’t find on other news websites.  I was just reading a news story dated December 16 about a German Shepard dog in Arizona that had been trained to push the speed dial for 911 if his owner had a seizure had the opportunity to do just that recently, and saved his owner’s life.  The rescue people had been alerted that the dog was trained and if he called them to send out rescue, and that is what happened!  The dog saved the man’s life!  Isn’t that cool?

The electric bills this past year have been horrendous and I’ve had just about enough of sending so much of my hard earned money each month to these guys with no promise of things changing for the better any time soon. Teri and I have been talking about having a home energy audit done to see if there are any ways for us to make the house more energy efficient in order to allow us to keep more of our paychecks to use for all the other things that are necessary to run a house and a home.

Terri’s mother and father had a home energy audit done last year and they came up with several ideas and ways for them to take immediate action on and they have been very pleased with the results of the audit and the work that was done soon after that was recommended. So we are going to contact the same home energy auditors in the next week or so and see what they can come up with for us. I’ll keep you posted on what we come up with.
