Have you ever had one of those annoying hang up phone calls?  Have you wondered why they happen, who it is, and wanted to share that information with other frustrated telephone marketing victims?  I happen to know that the hang up calls are a mechanized system that is designed simply to determine if anyone is home at a particular time.  That information is sold to telemarketing companies so that they know what is the best time to call the telephone customer.  What will they think of next?

As a blogger I have come to learn and realize how important all of this Page Rank business is to websites. In today’s world where the Internet is the most important tool that you can use for large, medium or small business marketing efforts, it is good to know that there are companies out there that can assist with local search engine optimization that is relied on to keep any business running. And in these days of our economy not getting any better any time soon any kind of business needs all the help that it can get. The days of relying on the Yellow Pages, TV and radio only are over, all though they are still be used of course. It is all about the World Wide Web and going online.

There is so much involved in having a good web site. You have to have the right web hosting first of all and that can be pretty tricky if you don’t know what you are doing or getting involved in. A good web designer and then of course you have to have a good IT to help with all of those issues that an every day person would be clueless in. It’s all about specialties these days!

I understand that Google is going to be having one of their sweeps pretty soon and I have my hands full on trying to keep my current page rank from getting any lower. I just don’t understand how Google has gained so much power in this issue. I used to like Google, but after each quarterly sweep happens it seems to always leave a bad taste in my mouth. I would like to know other people’s thoughts on this. Drop me a line if you have something to say about this O.K.

While I was driving to work this morning and drove past a drug store and saw that they were advertising flu shots on their marquee. I was glad to see the notice, it was a wake up call, so to speak, that reminded me that I need to get a flu shot! I always get a flu shot every fall. I’ve been getting the shot for as long as I can remember them being offered! It always saddens me to hear so many people are still not getting these flu shots for a variety of reasons and it doesn’t make me happy to think that when they get the flu that they are transferring those to so many others that have not gotten these important shots as well, sigh….

It looks like our small town is growing more than I thought. Went to the movie theatre last night to see the new Contagion Matt Damon, Gwyneth Paltrow, Jude Law, Kate Winslet, and let’s not forget the beautiful Laurence Fishburne. We were totally impressed, it turned out to be a really good movie, worth going out and traveling into and seeing to be sure.

Anyway, it has been a while since venturing out to the movies, so we were surprised to see that they now have brand new fancy looking stanchions with all the velvet rope that they use for crowd control in other movie theatres that you go to in the big city. I’m just not sure why they thought this was necessary. I’ve never seen a crowd in that theatre day or night, week nights or weekends in all the years that we have lived here and going to that movies theatre wish is the only movie theatre for miles around.

The really bummer is that we are now paying for all the additional furnishings, the ticket prices have never been as high as what we paid for last night. A sign of the time and as the old saying goes “Nothing is Free.”

I have really enjoyed You Tube, but it really irritates me when I put a video on my Favorites list only to go back at a later date to find that the video is no longer available. I have over 200 videos saved and I’ve noticed that about 1/4 of them are no longer available, what’s up with that?
