I’ve never been the type of guy that has to run out and get the first and the best newest piece(s) of technology. I do however enjoy gadgets, tools and electronics as much as the next guy. My cell phone isn’t fancy, it makes and receives calls, when I have a signal) it has the capability to take pictures with it but the quality of the pictures are so bad that I don’t mess with it all that much, unless it is the only option available and I really would like to take a picture. I’m sure it has a calendar, calculator and a few other bells and whistles but it is far from a “Black Berry” and the other top of the line smart phones that so many people are carrying around these days.
One thing that I would really like to have and would be a good Christmas present to receive as a gift this year would be one of the quality but Discount Gps Systems for my pick up truck and a Gps Marine Navigation system for my bass boat would be swell. At stores.trekvisionstore.com they have a tremendous selection of the most wonderful quality controlled and guaranteed Cheap GPS Navigation’s System products that a guy could really get into. There is a couple of weeks left before Christmas day so I’ll send the link to stores.trekvisionstore.com to the few people that have asked what I’d like to receive for Christmas this year. Who knows I might get lucky and actually get what I want and need that way. Lord knows I don’t need any ties or slippers. Gift cards are always a fool proof gift option as long as it’s through a major credit card company such as VISA, Discover, Master Card or American Express and not linked specifically to one store with a bunch of stipulations and small print.

Flu Shot
Filed under: Health, technology;Comments OffI finally got my flu shot today. Better late than never, I guess. I’m not all that crazy about needles but I understand the need for many of them, but I’m never not all that anxious to have my body stuck with one or more, what ever the case may be. So I’m glad that that is over and done with for yet another year.

One commercial that I haven’t seen in some time is the Rice-A-Roni commercial where they are singing that their “Rice-A-Roni is the San Francisco Treat” You know the one with the trolley going by with the Rice-A-Roni ad on the back end of the trolley with the bell ringing. I remember when I visited a friend in California, the San Diego Hillcrest Area, I had him take me up to the San Francisco, Castro Area so that I could see what all the fuss was about with their famous Coffee Shops and their world class Restaurants and Hotels.
It was everything that I thought it would be and more. The roads were outrageously hilly, the weather was awesome and the people couldn’t have been more laid back and friends. A whole different world compared to New York City and basically the rest of the east coast. There have been many TV shows that have taken place in San Francisco, all most as many that are shot, or supposedly shot, in New York City. Both are awesome cities but I’d take San Francisco over New York City in a heart beat even with the large amount of earth quakes that they experience there.

Cyber Monday Numbers
Filed under: Business and Office, Computers and/or Internet, Friends and/or Family, Money, News, shopping, technology;Comments OffI’ve been waiting to hear what the numbers were for this year’s Cyber Monday, just out of curiosity’s sake. According the the local radio station that I was listening to last evening, sales were up 19% from last year. That is a big percentage and one that I hope keeps rising each year, while hopefully the Black Friday numbers will be decreasing. I really think that Black Friday has gotten way out of control and I for one wouldn’t mind seeing a law forbidding this outrageous yearly tradition from taking place in the future.

Anyone remember those nasty Wood Lockers that we had to use in Junior and High School for our Gym Locker? Back in our day it was mandatory that we take a shower after gym class but that isn’t the case now a days. I feel so sorry for the teachers in today’s Middle Schools, they are surrounded by a building full of pre teens that haven’t learned the need for deodorant and that haven’t showered after gym. Most schools don’t even require a gym clothes, so many changes going on in our schools these days.
Even the Lockers are way different. My Locker was full sized and was always a total mess and over flowing with all kinds of things. But today’s Lockers are much smaller, and I can’t imagine trying to cram all the things that you would need to have with you, into these small miniature School Lockers. Winter time is the worst, what with all the winter clothes that are needed, jackets, scarves, gloves, hats, boots. Things like that are usually wet and they get all the other stuff in your Locker wet as well, what a mess. I’m glad that I don’t have to deal with that nonsense any more.
