Good advice on car insurance
Filed under: Business and Office, Computers and/or Internet, Education, Friends and/or Family, General Life, Health, Money;Comments OffWhile browsing for vehicle coverage in TX, you may come across this car ins video for Texans. This video suggests that if you are shopping for auto insurance in Texas that you should consider more than just price.
I feel that this is pretty sound advice. What good is having an insurance company if when you need them you find out that they are no longer in business? I think it would be a wise move to check around with your friends and neighbors and ask them what insurance company they use themselves.
Another good piece of advice is to make sure that you buy lots of uninsured/underinsured coverage on whatever auto policy you purchase. In many states, including Texas, the legal minimum insurance coverage for bodily injuries to one person is only $25,000! I think that is outrageous!
I have a good friend who was involved in an accident a couple of years ago. It wasn’t his fault – he was rear-ended. The lady who caused the accident only had $25,000 worth of insurance. He hasn’t been able to work since the accident. He has had to have over $200,000 worth of surgeries and doctor appointments and physical therapy and pain medication. The lady who caused the accident, well her insurance still hasn’t even paid the $25,000!
And my friend’s underinsurance coverage, well, he has it, but so far that company hasn’t forked over any money either! This guy’s poor wife has to work two jobs and they still can’t make ends meet.
Having said all of that, both insurance companies involved are very well known national brand names. And my friend has had to hire a lawyer to help him get his insurance money. Naturally the lawyers will get a big chunk of it, but the lawyers figure that the most he will get of it all is only about $150,000. Not even enough to cover his medical expenses. So, choose wisely my friends. And cover yourself as best you can.

Looking to see if anyone had done a response to the guys who were jumping and flipping into their jeans, I found this parody. Too funny! I’m glad to see folks have a sense of humor, even in these trying times!

I just don’t understand what has happened to Marie Callender’s. I used to really love her frozen dinners. Yes, they were higher in all of the stuff that is bad for you, but that is what made them taste good! And to have something convenient that tastes good, from freezer to microwave to table goes a long way when you are rushed and don’t have time or energy to cook from scratch, and you just can’t (or don’t want to) go to a restaurant or fast food place.
But just about a month ago we bought a couple of Marie Callender’s dinners and pot pies. Last night we pulled them out to eat them. We were just too tired and busy to cook. And they were terrible! I had the sweet and sour chicken – the veggies were bitter, the battered chicken was soggy. I checked the expiration date – it was not expired. I don’t know if I’ll try this product again. So disappointing!

Well, you know it’s spring when Teri starts dropping hints again about us getting married. I’m sure it has to do with the weather! Spring is such a popular time for weddings! And, as Teri reminds me, that weddings take a very long time to plan if you are going to have a nice formal wedding with lots of guests.
She reminds me that we need to tell our friends and family to save the date so that they can attend! Of cours, in order to do that, we actually have to SET the date! At this point, I’m beginning to think maybe we SHOULD just go ahead and tie the knot. We’ve been together for a very long time now – it has been years. And maybe it is time we started looking ahead to starting a family.
Teri has been spending quite a bit of time lately looking at Bride magazine, and on the Internet looking at custom wedding invitions. She has been adamant that she does not want something that looks like “every other invitation.” No, she wants unique wedding invitations, and she wants me to help her pick some out if and when we pick the date.
You know, with all of the decisions that have to be made for a big wedding, that is perhaps the biggest reason why I keep putting it off – there are so many decisions to be made!
