My view on the world, as seen from whatever vehicle I'm in!

Not too long ago I was talking to a businessman who seemed to have a unique approach to the current economy and how every-one’s bad credit is going to change the business world.   The conversation started out with a discussion on different credit repair services and how so many people are interested in learning how to fix credit ratings.  Everyone is afraid that if they don’t have good credit that they will be unable to buy a car or rent an apartment down the line.

His take on the situation is that no one should have to pay for credit repair services.  He feels that it won’t be too long before everyone is in the same boat and that the businesses are just going to have to bite the bullet and take a chance.  If they don’t take a chance they are going to end up with a lot of unsold product and empty apartments!  And that won’t be good for business at all!  He may have a point there, but just the same I’m going to try to protect my credit as best I can!

Teri was so upset when she came home this evening because she had taken my car to run a quick errand.  She saw that it was low on gas so she decided to fill up the tank for me (isn’t she a sweetheart?)  Well, for some strange reason even though the tank was low, as soon as she started to pump the gas, it splashed back up and out and got gas all over her new coat and shoes, and poured gas all down the side of my car!

Her coat is probably ruined; we’ve put it in the wash right away but I don’t know how we will get the smell of gasoline out of it!

As I was mentioning in my previous post, I’ve been really quite busy lately.  There just does not seem to be enough hours in the day to get everything done that I want to do!  I think that sometimes I am trying to burn the candle at both ends AND the middle too!  Life truly is a delicate balancing act.  Earlier today I noticed Teri was looking online at some Citizen Eco Drive Men’s Watches.  I have to assume that she was looking at them to pick one out for me for Valentine’s Day.  Lately she’s been telling me that I need to “make more time for myself” and if I know her sense of humor she will probably buy one and wrap it up and put a note on it that makes some reference about taking time for her, or for me, or maybe even include a flower (or flowers) alongside with a note to take time to smell the flowers.

I’d have to admit that the watches she was looking at are some good looking watches.  I’ll have to drop a hint to her as to which one I like the best (the two-toned one with an alarm and perpetual calendar honey!)

Every couple of days Teri mentions to me that we need to take down the Christmas decorations.  To be honest, I’ve just been so busy that when I have got a few minutes I really don’t have much of an interest in taking down the tree!  I’m really in no hurry; the house looks nice and the tree is an artificial one, so there is no fire hazard!  I keep putting her off but I think she’s not going to let me get away with it too much longer.  She’s threatening to haul the entire tree out to the curb, decorations and all if I don’t help her take it down by the end of the month!

Teri was so excited when her boss gave everyone in her office a new Blackberry for Christmas. I can’t say that I blame her for being excited, but I always suspect there is an ulterior motive for gifts like that! Maybe I’m just hyper-cynical, but I think that businesses are trying very hard to find ways to get more of their employee’s time without paying for it! And I think that a gift like this can be written off as a business expense. Oh well, I don’t want to ruin her fun; she’s very excited about having it in the first place! She’s been very busy entering all of her contacts into the contact list.

I’ve advised Teri that she should go online and sign up for the free Blackberry Backup app that I found at the drive.com website. I think it’s a valuable tool to be able to use their free app to back up and restore your contact list. The service isn’t restricted to just Blackberrys; it can be used for the Iphone and the Android phone as well. With the amount of contacts I have on mine, I sure appreciate having an app like that – I’d go crazy if I lost all of my contacts! This app provides real peace of mind about averting that disaster!
