Well the turkey is in the oven, and the house is smelling wonderful! I am looking forward to a few great turkey sandwiches over the next couple of days! I hope that everyone has a great Thanksgiving! Teri and I have invited a few friends over for dinner, and everyone is supposed to bring a dish. I’m making one of my own favorites – green bean casserole. You know, the one with mushroom soup and french fried onions. Yummy! I hope someone brings the sweet potato dish with marshmallows on top. I don’t like sweet potatoes unless the marshmallows are there too!

Teri’s mother has been talking to us about booking an Oceanfront Myrtle Beach Hotel for her and her girlfriends. They want to have a “girls only” long weekend together this winter when the men go off to their winter lodge camping trip up in Maine to go ice fishing. They’ve been talking about doing this ever since last year when the women decided that what is sauce for the goose is sauce for the gander.
If the men can go off on a long weekend vacation with just the guys, then the gals can certainly go at the same time someplace where they’ll have fun too, right?
So right now Teri and I are trying to compare the different Oceanfront Myrtle Beach Hotels to see which ones will be close to the attractions and shopping that they will want to be participating in! I don’t think any of them are going to want to hit the golf courses, but I’m sure some of the shows will strike their fancy!Teri never realized that there were so many different places to choose from! She is thinking she is going to have to compile a list of several different ones for her mother and friends and let them pick out which Myrtle Beach Hotel seems to be their favorite one.

It only takes a moment
Filed under: General Life;Comments OffIt only takes a moment to make someone’s day more pleasant, or less pleasant. We all have troubles in this economy, and I think that this calls for trying just a little bit harder to be pleasant to those people around you. I don’t mean that you have to overextend yourself; just be quicker to smile and say good morning to the person you are passing in the hallway, or biting your tongue when someone in the supermarket blocks your way for a minute too long and politely saying “excuse me” with a smile. It only takes a moment to be nice, and being nice is good for your inner being as well. Being nasty tends to make you feel even more negative inside and does nobody any good.

I saw Terri looking at the distressed shorts On Sale at the shopdcd.com website. These micro-mini denim cut-offs with extra-long pockets that hung down below the cutoff line were marked down from $152 to $76! Sometimes I have to wonder why someone would pay so much money for clothes that I would put in the rag-bag!
The Home Page of the website seems innocent enough; it touts Gypsy 05 as one of the biggest sellers that they feature. Terri was interested in buying one of the maxi dresses, so we were looking through their selection together. There was one maxi dress that is advertised as “olive blue.” I’ve never heard of “olive blue” before! I have to wonder if that was a typo! I would have called it turquoise if someone had asked me what color it is!

Peace and quiet – for now
Filed under: General Life, Politics;Comments OffThank goodness the year’s elections are over! I was getting tired of all of the automated phone calls coming in promoting one candidate or the other! I may not be happy with the results of who won and who lost, but at least I can hit the sack early if I want to and not be awakened by the phone just to hear a pre-recorded message to vote for so-and-so! I wish there was some way we could opt-out from receiving those calls! All they do is annoy me!
