Our family is talking about holding the nationwide annual family reunion in California this winter.  We like to pick different spots around the country so that we can all experience different sights and sounds and tour the country a little bit while we have our family time.

There has been a lot of talk about having the reunion in the Santa Monica Beach area.  Its close proximity to LA seems to be a major selling point for the area, as well as being right on the Pacific Ocean.  So I’ve been asked to check out the Santa Monica Beach Accommodations to see what the prices and features are in the area.  After I do some research, I will be sending out the information to the different families and see if any one Santa Monica Beach Hotel gets a majority of votes, and then try to book it for the reunion.

Lynn is so excited because she got a phone call today from a local business that wants to interview her for a recent job opening in their company. It is doing the same thing that she already does, but for almost double the hourly pay that she is currently getting. It is also for more hours than she has been getting, so she is just about jumping with joy over it! She would have to increase her commute time, from about twenty minutes to about forty-five minutes, but she says that the increase in pay is well worth it. Her interview is next week; I hope she gets the job! She could use a break!

Teri says it must be a “man thing.”  It seems that I’m always looking at the newest cars, thinking about whether it would be a good fit for my needs.  My family has always been partial to the chevrolet cars.  My parents used to claim that they were a better made car than many of the competitors.  My mother has been hinting to my father that she wants her next car to be a chevrolet traverse.  She says that the car she’s been driving now is spending more time in the repair shop’s garage than in her own at home!

I’ve always been partial to the subaru outback outback myself.  I like the all wheel drive feature; I feel that it is one of the safest vehicles one can drive in.  And the more info I hear about safety on the road, and resale value, the more I like the Subaru.

I’m sorry to see that due to so many people bringing stuffing to the Thanksgiving dinner, we have way more stuffing than we needed! I hate to see good food thrown out, but I just can’t figure out a way to eat all of this turkey stuffing! Bob suggested that we fix a stuffing sandwich, but I think that’s just plain wacky – after all stuffing is mostly bread to begin with! I guess maybe next time we need to buy more turkey!  Or maybe tell the people that are coming to NOT bring stuffing!  Not that they listen in the first place…….

I find it very interesting how many people enjoy playing golf.  I’ve tried it a few times, and I have to admit that it is a lot more difficult than it looks!  I found it frustrating – that little white ball never went where it was supposed to go!  My father has invited me to join him on several of his Myrtle Beach Golf Vacations over the past few years, and so far I’ve never gone with him.  He loves to Golf Myrtle Beach more than any other vacation.

Teri has suggested that I think about going with him next time – even though I’m not a good player.  She said that there are a lot of good Myrtle Beach Golf Packages that we can take advantage of, and she has reminded me that my father is getting on in years – this may be one of the last Myrtle Beach Golf vacations he may be able to enjoy.  And you really can’t blame him for wanting to take his son with him; playing golf together is a good chance to spend time with each other.  So I think maybe the next time I’ll agree to go with him and make the old guy happy.
