Terri has me watching her favorite television shows lately about interior design and home furnishings.  She especially likes the shows where the star designer takes the existing furniture of the client and spiffs it up in some way so that it looks completely different than what it looked like before.  Or perhaps the star modifies it in some way so that it is repurposed; still very useful, but not in the way it was originally intended.

I also enjoy watching the shows where the designer takes a lot of eclectic pieces that might be in the garage or attic – you know, the family hand me-downs that get retired but not hauled away and brings them back into the house and makes those pieces star attractions!  I really enjoy seeing the creativity involved, and I find myself wishing that I had that kind of talent.  It must be really wonderful to be that gifted to be able to visualize the transformation, and skilled enough to make the transformation happen!

We have had so many overcast days that I think I’m starting to suffer from SADD!  It has been really hard to get energized; I feel like I need to keep drinking something with caffeine in it just to keep awake!  Which is really a shame because I know that caffeine really isn’t all that good for you.  Sure, I drink one cup of tea in the morning to wake up, but I try to avoid more caffeine than that if I can.  Lately though, I feel like I need a mid-afternoon nap!  Maybe the tradition of a mid-day siesta is a smart one after all!  I should move to a country that observes the siesta period!

As I have been spending time at the laundromat, I’ve been thinking about investing some money in signing up for a Broadband service. I’ve wasted so much time there that could have been productive time if I was able to get online and work on my laptop!  I’ve been fortunate for the most part to be able to find free Wifi in many places that I go to, but the laundromat isn’t one of those!

Steve has been touting how happy he has been with his UK Broadband ever since he moved to England.  He says he can use his UK Broadband anytime, anywhere.  His biggest problem, however, is his battery running down while he’s surfing the web with his UK Broadband service!  So I guess if I do decide to get a broadband service I’ll have to make sure that I have an adapter to plug my laptop into my car’s cigarette lighter!

I really don’t like washing my clothes at the laundromat!  First of all, it is crowded.  And you often have to wait for a machine to become available to use.  And you can’t “reserve a machine” so if you leave the laundromat for a few minutes you could “lose your place in line” for a machine.  Second of all, you really don’t feel that you can just leave your laundry there unattended.  And the dryers are way too hot, and the whole experience just stinks.  I’ll be glad when my washing machine is fixed!

Teri got a post card from her sister Sue in today’s mail.  Sue is on vacation in Myrtle Beach this week.  Last spring Teri helped Sue pick out which Myrtle Beach Accomodation to stay in on her vacation.  There are so many different Myrtle Beach Accomodations and Myrtle Beach Hotels that Sue was feeling overwhelmed by having to choose from them all!

So Teri helped her to narrow down which ones were close to the beach.  Sue didn’t care about playing golf, she wanted close proximity to shopping and the beach and the amusement parks.  Sue says on her postcard that the weather is great and that next time she wants Teri to come on vacation with her!  I think that’s fine; as long as I get to go too!  I’d like to hit some of the golf courses, though, while the ladies are relaxing on the beach.
