Sideways stapler
Filed under: General Life;No CommentsI was looking for a stapler earlier today and couldn’t find one anywhere. So I asked Teri where they were. She rummaged around in one of her desk drawer’s and pulled out a stapler that staples things sideways! It’s hard to explain how or what it does, but part of the stapler swivels out and lets you re-staple pages in magazines and softcover books. I had never seen a stapler like that before! I think it’s ingenious!

Can you fix your credit?
Filed under: General Life, Money; No CommentsIf you have bad credit and find yourself not being able to get the loans that you want to get, you may find yourself in need of credit repair. Being able to fix your credit is possible if you understand how to do it. There are companies like Ovation Credit that will help you with that process if you feel overwhelmed by it all.
Sometimes having bad credit is a result of erroneous reporting at the credit bureaus, and that is an easy thing to fix if you know how. What’s NOT so easy to fix is fixing your credit if it is a result of you not paying your bills! But you really should check your credit reports for accuracy. Three years ago I checked my credit report and found a lot of mistakes on it – there were other people’s debts on there that were clearly not mine!

A couple of months ago a new grocery store opened in town – a Harris Teeter store. I haven’t had the chance, or perhaps I should say need to go there until today. It seems that the other stores in town have stopped stocking a few of my favorite brands of food items, so I decided to go to the Harris Teeter store and see if they carry the items.
Tops on my list is Reese’s Peanut butter. My favorite! Up until recently our Wal-Mart carried it, but they haven’t had it for over a month now. So today I looked at Harris Teeter, and was shocked at how small and puny their peanut butter and jelly section is! And no, they don’t carry Reese’s peanut butter. I wonder if this is an indication of elitism on their part, not having a big selection of peanut butters and jellies!

My brother the wiz
Filed under: Business and Office, Computers and/or Internet, Education, Friends and/or Family, General Life, Software, Technology; No CommentsMy brother makes his living from being the computer support guy for several local companies. He is also the one I call for help when I can’t figure out what is going on with my computer. (Yes, that has happened from time to time.) What I think is really awesome about his ability to help is that he often uses remote control software to fix the problems without even leaving his house! He simply accesses my computer via the Internet from his computer and pokes around and fixes what is wrong!
He has assured me that what he uses is completely safe and secure, and uses 256-bit encryption – the highest in its class so that I don’t need to worry about any hackers getting into my computer and messing with it. The only thing he has needed me to do to help him out is to make sure that my computer is turned on and that I have authorized his access to my computer. From time to time when he is working on it he has had to restart the computer, so I’ve had to be there to turn it back on again and reauthorize his access to it. Other than that all I did was sit and watch the screen while it appeared to fix itself! It was really amazing to watch!

Yesterday Teri was getting dressed to go to dance class and she pulled on a black tank top. I noticed that she had white deodorant streaks around the armpits and told her about it so she could wash them off with a wash cloth before she left the house. I could not believe how upset she was when I pointed them out to her! She picked up the container of Mitchum anti-perspirant and read the back of the container. It clearly stated that it would NOT leave any white residue on clothes, yet the proof was right there on her shirt – white residue WAS there.
She was upset because she has had a hard time finding an antiperspirant that actually works, and she thought that she had found the perfect product. That’s really a shame. I don’t know what product she will try to use next. Someone should tell the Mitchum company that their product does NOT do what it claims to do! Maybe I’ll encourage Teri to give them a call or send them an email!
