Have you ever heard of pay-per-click advertising to monetize a blog?  Recently my brother had suggested that I try to make some money with my blog by signing up with a company that does that.  How it works is that when you write a post in your blog, you put in a hypertext link that points to a company that is paying you for your advertising.  Just a few pennies each time one of your readers clicks on that link.  Sounds like a quick and easy way to make money!  According to the blog Online Siesta and the website Infolinks it is just about the best and easiest way to make money with your blog!  They call this in-text advertising, but I think it sounds more like pay-per-click.

The only catch about this version of in-text advertising is that in order to get paid for your efforts, you actually have to get your readers to click on the links!  There is a great post in the Online Siesta blog that has a tongue in cheek look at the top ten reasons to NOT have in-text advertising.  Really great writing!  If a blog has a lot of readers that will click on the link, it certainly sounds like a good and easy way to monetize a blog!

I have several relatives that claim that they are looking for a job.  I get information from them about what kind of job they are looking for, and what their qualifications are, and I tell them that if I hear of any jobs like that I’ll let them know.  I cannot even begin to count how many times I have found out about job opportunities for these people and I tell them about it.  When I see them a couple of weeks later I ask them if they applied for the job I told them about and they say that they are “still thinking about it.”  Then a few weeks later I ask them again and they tell me that when they applied that they were told the position was already filled.  Well of course they were already filled!  When you find out about a job opening, you have to jump on it!
