I just bought a new pair of shoes, and Teri asked me if she could have the shoe box. She loves to use shoe boxes to store things other than shoes. She uses them to stuff receipts in (her own little filing system.) She uses them to store craft supplies. She uses them in dresser drawers as dividers to keep clothes sorted and separate; the stocking/sock drawer to keep the sock types and colors organized. In fact every drawer in every dresser in the has shoe boxes in it, the larger shoe boxes help keep T-shirts from getting too dishevelled. She keeps toiletries in shoe boxes, too, so that when we’re in the bathroom and looking for something we can just pull out one shoebox from the cupboard and look through that.

I think shoe boxes are just about the world’s greatest organizers!

Have you ever wired flowers to someone for a special occasion?  I have, and I think that the wire fees are outrageous!  In many cases, the wire fee cost more than the floral arrangement itself!  I try to give local merchants my business, but when the price of sending flowers to someone one of state more than doubles the price of the product, I think it is time to go online and find other options.

I have several relatives that live in New York, so I am very interested in a good New York Flower Delivery service.  I want a New York Flower Delivery service that has really nice arrangements, and reasonable prices.  I’ve found a website called petercooperflowershop.com that offers free delivery, same day service, and the pictures of their arrangements are really very nice and a good value.  So I think that I have found my service for my local New York Flower Delivery needs.

Teri recently started wearing cargo pants when she wants to dress casually.  She said that she was getting really tired of dragging her purse around, and having cargo pants to put her essential things in frees her up.  I can see her point, I certainly don’t want to lug a purse around!  I was surprised when she told me that she found some 5.11 Tactical pants on the Internet that she wants to buy.  I asked her why would she want to buy something like that?  She explained it is because they have even MORE pockets, and they make them in men’s and women’s sizes.  She found them on the lapolicegear.com website, and she is going to order a couple of pairs to see how she likes them.

I was reading a magazine article about how PepsiCo is moving more into the international market and putting more focus into selling food/drink items that are more health-conscious. I was pleasantly surprised about that! I’ve always liked the Pepsi products more than the Coca Cola products (except for Sprite, I like Sprite a lot!) and I’ve always “rooted” for the company simply because of that! Anyway, the article was interesting, I learned a few things about the company I had not known before that – for example they merged with Frito-Lay. I like the Frito-Lay products, too! Especially the Sun Chips snack chips!

There is a local ice cream parlor called Carosel that is set up in the middle of the parking lot of one of the local shopping centers.  It is only open during the warmer months, and when it opens there are always crowds in line.  Obviously the ice cream and milk shakes are really good, if they have that good a clientele!  Well today I was driving by the place and got the urge for a good homemade thick pina colada milkshake, so I pulled in.  The weather was really nice, and although the line was long it moved fast.  I ordered my shake and got it really quickly.  I sat on a bench at one of the tables in the parking lot near the little water garden that they have installed and watched the other people and their children enjoy their ice creams and shakes.  The milk shake was good, and I was glad I stopped.  I’ll be going there again!
