I’ve been hearing on the news the past couple of days articles about smoking bans.  Virginia is banning smoking in bars and restaurants unless the place has a distinct and separate area with a separate ventilation system.  Maryland is thinking about banning smoking in cars if any passengers in the cars are under the age of eight.  I think these are good laws.  I know that a lot of people oppose those laws, but I am convinced that passive smoking is unhealthy, and that people who do not smoke should be protected from breathing the smoke from other people’s unhealthy habits.
