I was just reading on the Time.com website a story about how hugging is gaining in popularity; replacing the traditional handshake. The story goes on to describe several different types of hugs, and it also gives anecdotal information about how the new First Family tends to hug people. The article brought to mind past television news coverage about meetings between the past President Bush and some people from foreign countries where the custom is to kiss on the cheek, and to hold hands. I had to laugh when I remembered seeing how uncomfortable the past President was in those situations! It will be interesting to see how our current President reacts in those same situations.
