It’s never to early too start planning a vacation. One of the biggest parts of planning a vacation is setting a budget for it! That can be harder than you think, especially in this economy! In this economy, it is a good idea to try to have the money upfront to pay for the vacation, to avoid going into debt over it. Vacations are great, but let’s face it; going away on a vacation IS a luxury!
Once you have a budget established, and a realistic plan for saving the money for the vacation, it’s time to figure out where you want to go and stay on that vacation! One of the good things about this economy right now, is that there can be bargains to be found in the hospitality business, if you just look in the right places.
I’d like to suggest that people try to stay within their own country on their vacations, to help support their country’s own ailing economy! After all, charity begins at home, right? And supporting your own country’s economy is good for them, and good for you because the businesses and employees there are taxpayers, too! And our government needs all the money it can get to spend on the new stimulus packages! So it’s kind of an “I’ll scratch your back if you scratch mine” situation!
One good place to look for bargains in vacation lodging is the rentaloo.com website. They list world wide vacation rentals. They list over 200,000 rentals in over 15,000 destination locations around the world!
Teri and I have been thinking about going to Breckenridge, Colorado next winter, to have a skiing vacation. We’ve never been to Colorado in the wintertime, and we love to ski! We’ve heard so many good things about the powder conditions in Colorado that we’d like to give it a try! We’re used to skiing on wet snow, so it will be an interesting experience. We’re going to use the rentaloo.com website to try to find breckenridge lodging that has ski-in and ski-out accommodations. I think it would be great to just open our door and start skiing!
