As the world evolves more into the world of the Internet, more people are becoming more interesting in learning as much as they can about the Internet. Part of today’s successful business plans include using the Internet to some degree; most companies find themselves at the very least using email, and often find themselves wanting or needing to create websites to promote their products and services.

A really good place to learn about they whys and hows of web hosting is the webhostingrating.com website. I found their article titled “The What, Where and Why of Web Hosting” to be very informative, and well written; easy for the average person to understand. That website has many web hosting tutorials as well, which makes it easier for a beginner to learn the basics. Additionally, they review and rate the top ten web hosting sites that are based on affordability, reliability, customer satisfaction, up-time and technical support.

Lysol kitchen disinfectant spray or Fantastic?  Teri told me that we needed some more Fantastic spray cleaner, but we had a coupon for $1.00 off of Lysol cleaner.  We agreed that when we went to the store that we’d buy whichever one cost less money.  When we got to the store, the only Lysol cleaner that they had was the specialty Lysol for kitchens, and it turned out that the Lysol was cheaper.  Well, we wanted a cleaner that was multipurpose, so we decided to compare labels and found out that the Fantastic kills salmonella, whereas the Lysol did not.  That really surprised us both because it would make sense to us that the kitchen Lysol would kill salmonella!  So, what’s up with that?

Once a person decides that they want to create their own web page, they face a lot of decisions ahead of them.  Of course, they need to buy a domain, and find a good web site hosting service to get started.  I just found out that there are some new web site host services that are focused on being environmentally friendly is so much as they use alternate energy sources, plant trees, recycle waste and purchase RECs.  I found there is a list of these “green” web site host services on the webhostinggeeks.com website.

I’ve got to say that I try hard to do business with companies that try to be environmentally friendly, but I also try to make sure that they REALLY ARE environmentally friendly and not just trying to scam us into doing business with them.  So I like the fact that the webhostinggeeks website reviews and rates them.  The next time I need a web hosting service, I will be checking out these “green” companies for sure!

I was reading an article on the livescience.com web site’s strange news category that scientists have determined that women have more nightmares than men do, and that men have more dreams about sex than women do.  I really don’t find that at all surprising, do you?  In this world, women are more vulnerable than men in so very many ways.  They are vulnerable physically and financially.  And men are, well, men!  Men are programmed to be sex machines, day and night.  They can’t help it; that is the way they are biologically programmed!

I was reading the antivirusware.com website that is full of articles about computer security and viruses.  I found it to be very informational and I learned a few things about phishing and worms that I didn’t know before!  In addition to educational articles, the website also reviews several different Internet Security software programs, and offers the reader the opportunity to download the different programs (including the Norton Antivirus download) right there from the site.  They are not free downloads, but they are reasonably priced, and they have discount coupons and offers to help defray the cost. 

With so many hackers out there, trying to invade our computers through the Internet, I think that having a good firewall and anti-virus program is essential.
