I don’t think it’s a big secret that networking is a large contributor to the success of many business propositions. One of the ways that the Internet is impacting the networking process is through the use of social media marketing. In social media marketing, companies are utilizing bloggers to help them get the word out about their products.
In order to be the most effective, the target market for the service or product being promoted does not even realize that a service or product IS being promoted. Almost the way you might see a bottle of Pepsi being displayed on the kitchen counter of a soap opera character. It is a more subliminal technique, yet very effective.

Tourism snag for South Carolina
Filed under: Business and Office, Computers and/or Internet, Entertainment and Fun, General Life, Travel; No CommentsAccording to an article in time.com, there is a big controversy surrounding a tourism campaign that was intended to attract tourists to South Carolina from London. The controversy is that the advertising company put up posters in the “gay” district of London touting South Carolina as a great place for gay people to vacation, proclaiming that South Carolina is “so gay.” The ads mention gay beaches, among other non-specific tourist attractions.
This has upset a lot of people, most notable those conservative government official type people who are upset that $5000 of the taxpayers money went to pay for those ads. So now charges of homophobia are being slung around. I’m sure glad I don’t work for one of those companies involved in that mess!

I’ve noticed that there is a media-generated social stigma towards teeth that are not perfectly white. I think that this is very sad because there are a lot of people “out there” with perfectly healthy teeth that are not perfectly white! I’ve noticed that as people get older, their teeth have a tendency to yellow. I’ve also noticed that when I watch television and the show has older people in it that if those older people have perfectly white teeth that I always suspect that those teeth are really dentures!
Well, I recently found out that there is a cosmetic dentistry prcess called dental veneers htat makes teeth look whiter without bleaching, and without dentures! It also changes the appearance of teeth, in the sense that it can make gaps between teeth disappear! This process involves putting thin porcelein veneers over top of regular teeth. It is easy and painless! I had never heard of the process until a friend of mine went to his dentist and had some veneers put over his teeth. One minute he had a gap between his two front teeth, and the next he had perfect teeth! I think that is amazing!

As can be expected, anytime the economy is reaching the depths that this economy is fast approaching, there will be an increase in crime. People who would not normally even think about stealing things are going to become desperate for their necessities, simply because they have lost their jobs and can’t find another one. Many companies have been downsizing, and many companies that hire seasonal employees have decided against hiring seasonal employees this year. So money is very tight, and likely to get tighter.
As I hear about budget cuts in different departments, it worries me that I’ve also been hearing about budget cuts in crime enforcement. I fear that bodes poorly for the future victims of crime!

Unexpected gift
Filed under: Computers and/or Internet, Entertainment and Fun, Friends and/or Family, General Life, Technology, Travel; No CommentsMy brother Jim owns a really nice RV. I’ve admired it for a long time. Alright, I admit it, I’ve envied it for a long time. It is almost as nice as my house! It has one of the slide-out living rooms that I think are really about as awesome as they can possibly get! Well, Jim is in the process of moving in the next couple of months and has decided that his RV is temporarily in need of a new place to park while it is not in use. And he’s not going to be able to use it much in the coming summer, so he has asked me if he can park the RV in my driveway for a while. In exchange he will let me take the RV wherever I want to take it while I’m “storing it” for him.
Well, I jumped on that opportunity, that is for sure! I’ve always wanted to try out that baby! So now I’m in the process of looking into different places I can take it. I’m focusing on nc rv parks right now because I have some friends in North Carolina that I’d love to go visit. I’ve sent them an email asking them if there is a rv park nc that they now of that is a nice one close to where they live. In the meantime, I’m using the Internet to search for rv park north Carolina myself to see what I can come up with!
