I was very pleasantly surprised to read that the Rapid Switch company of England is not only a leader in web hosting services,  but is also contributing to the social “better good” of society.  I was reading their website and was interested to see that they have donated quite a bit of money to charities, and have planted over 815 trees through their tree planting initiative, which is run by Trees for Cities.

Rapid Switch has been in business since 1999, and is a growing business, focusing on hosting services.    They opened their own private data center in 2007 in Berkshire UK and they recently launched virtual private servers, I look forward to seeing their business continue to prosper in the years ahead.

I thought that the mail order catalogs prior to Christmas was overwhelming!  Now we are getting catalogs upon catalogs from flower and seed companies, and catalogs from discount places and clothing places that are trying to clearance out their overstocked items!  What a tremendous waste of paper and ink!  And what a shame that so much of that is going to simply go to landfills!  I try to call these companies and ask to be removed from their mailing lists, but for every one that gets removed, three more seem to pop up!

We’ve had an unseasonably cold snap this past week, but today was beautiful! It was in the low 50’s, so it was great weather to enjoy outside as much as possible. I actually ate my lunch outdoors in the sun today! I understand that it is going to get cold again this weekend, so I savored the warmer temperatures as much as I could. Certainly got me “hankering” for spring!

With more people focusing on staying home more, due in part to the economy, people are spending a little bit more of their money on fixing up and embellishing their homes.  After all, if they are going to spend more time at home they want to be more comfortable there, and make it as pleasant as possible.

One great way to dress up a home without spending a small fortune is by adding a few exterior “finishing touches” that many people overlook.  Installing new address plaques that are customized with the family’s name is a great way to create a feeling of importance and validation.
