In this day and age, I hear more news every day about violent crime on the rise, and I’d like to be able to keep track of Teri, and the cars. If I had children, I’d want some GPS tracking device on them, too! Even my pets. I think tracking people with GPS is fine as long as they know about it. Covert tracking is probably necessary in law enforcement issues.
The only drawback that I see to GPS tracking is that sometimes, when I use my GPS to help me with directions the receiver says there is no satellite signal. That happens frequently on cloudy days. I don’t know if there is ever going to be any improvement on that, but I think that is one of the drawbacks. The other drawback is that it seems to still be too large to just wear as a necklace (on kids) or dog collar. I’d like to see the transmitters get smaller.
I think I would freak out if I found a GPS transmitter on me, my briefcase, laptop, or car and didn’t know about it ahead of time. Prior knowledge, fine. Sneaky, not so fine. I don’t do anything that I need to hide from anyone, so it really is no big deal. Doing it behind my back would give me concern that something is very wrong somewhere!
