My view on the world, as seen from whatever vehicle I’m in!

GPS tracking devices are becoming more popular in everyday use.  I’d like to have GPS tracking on all of our cell phones and cars.  In this day and age, I hear more news every day about violent crime on the rise, and I’d like to be able to keep track of Teri, and the cars.  If I had children, I’d want some GPS tracking device on them, too!  Even my pets. I think tracking people with GPS is fine as long as they know about it.  Covert tracking is probably necessary in law enforcement issues.

The only drawback that I see to GPS tracking is that sometimes, when I use my GPS to help me with directions the receiver says there is no satellite signal.  That happens frequently on cloudy days.  I don’t know if there is ever going to be any improvement on that, but I think that is one of the drawbacks.  The other drawback is that it seems to still be too large to just wear as a necklace (on kids) or dog collar.  I’d like to see the transmitters get smaller.

I think I would freak out if I found a GPS transmitter on me, my briefcase, laptop, or car and didn’t know about it ahead of time.  Prior knowledge, fine.  Sneaky, not so fine.  I don’t do anything that I need to hide from anyone, so it really is no big deal.  Doing it behind my back would give me concern that something is very wrong somewhere!

Another gadget that I’d like to see for myself is a pair of sunglasses that you can wear and see through but also watch movies at the same time. I’d like to see and understand where the movies come from, and how you can be safely walking down the street or driving a car wearing these things and watching a movie too. I think that these things could be really dangerous! I can’t imagine these coming on the market!

I’ve been hearing a lot more people talking about debt consolidation plans in the past few months.  They are worried about their credit card debt because so many of them are using their credit cards now to pay their necessities and are unable to pay them off when the bills come in.  So the credit card bills keep getting higher and the consumer is paying more money for the things that they need.

A lot of the bad news about the economy is that the consumer is no longer buying big ticket items like refrigerators and cars.  That’s because we aren’t sure that we’ll have a job in a few months to keep making the payments!  This is a bad place to be because more factories and stores will continue to close because the consumer doesn’t have the money to buy the product. Then more people have less money and spend less, causing more closures and more layoffs.

If you are considering debt consolidation, one of the websites that can help you with advice and referrals is the fastdebtfreedomnow.com website.

I was reading about the Consumer Electronic Show event called Showstoppers that was held recently in Las Vegas on the MSN tech & gadgets page.  The page was highlighting some of the new gadgets that they felt were the most interesting.  My interest was piqued by one item, a two wheeled bicycle that had a small motor on it that could either be pedaled or motorized assist the rider.  I thought it would look bulky, but saw a photo of it and it looked like a normal bicycle.  That might encourage more people to ride their bikes to work if they don’t have to pedal the whole time!  I wonder how much it weighs?  I’d like to see it and try it out.

I like to have a clock that make a statement in every room in the house.  I think they are more than just time pieces, they put a little bit of “soul” and personality in every room.  I like every clock to have an entirely different “feel” to it.  I like to be able to look at a clock and smile when I see it, not just use it as a utilitarian piece to just broadcast what time it is!

I especially like Howard Miller grandfather clocks.  One of my favorite Howard Miller Clocks is the Arendal Grandfather clock that I found for sale on the 1-800-4clocks.com website.

I like to go to that website from time to time to see what kinds of special sales and deals they might be having on clocks; you never know when one of my favorite clocks will go on sale at a time when I’m ready to buy it!

I also enjoy reading their clock blog about clocks and see what new and interesting things that the blog has to say about clocks.  Recently I was reading an entry about how divorcing couples frequently fight about who gets to keep their grandfather clock!
