The women in my life are big into Fashion Jewelry. Always have been, always will be. My sister loves Sterling Silver Jewelry and white gold. She says she’s a “winter” and that yellow gold just isn’t “right” for “winter” women. Teri loves anything with gemstones in it, to brighten up her wardrobe. She’s always looking for more jewelry with colored gemstones in it. She doesn’t even care if they are “genuine” or synthetic, she just really enjoys the sparkles and the colors. And she tells me that although she would love to have a few “good pieces” that for the most part she wants inexpensive items, so if she accidentally loses something, or we are burglarized and someone steals her jewelry she won’t be really upset about losing a fortune in jewelry. And my mother is “big” into red and purple, to wear with her “Red Hat” outfits that she likes to wear to her Red Hat club meetings and parties.
Needless to say, I was thrilled to find the website called Jewelrypayless.com because they sell great jewelry at bargain prices. I was just looking at their website and have decided to stock up on their birthstone earrings for Teri, and some red and purple jewelry for my mother. I haven’t quite figured out what to get my sister, I’m going to have to consult my mother on that one!

Last week I toted some boxes from a friend’s house to mine, to store for the winter in my basement. I left the boxes in my car overnight, and brought them into my house the next morning. About three days ago I discovered that I now have mice in my car! What the heck? Mouse droppings on the floor of my car! So I set a mouse trap that night, and the next morning I found a mouse in the trap. That night I set another mouse trap, and again the next morning another mouse. Repeat, repeat, repeat. So far I’ve caught five mice from my car! I told Teri about it and she has totally freaked out and won’t ride in my car! I guess I have to wait until my traps are a whole week “mouse free” before she’ll get into it! And now I have to buy some Decon for the house because I’m assuming I now have mice in the house from those boxes that I hauled in! What a great friend!

I was reading in the newspaper that last week a local family had lost their home to a fire. In the body of the news story it was mentioned that the family had no insurance on the house, and that the community was gathering around to try to raise money to help the family with future living expenses. Unfortunately, I read stories like that frequently – people feel that they don’t have the money to pay for home insurance, and then they end up losing their homes to some disaster like a fire. It’s a very sad state of affairs. I’m concerned that it is going to happen more frequently as the economic mess we are in gets even worse.
Insurance is so very important – it not only helps to replace a home in the event of a loss, but it also provides liability insurance against lawsuits if someone is injured on your property and decides to try to sue you. When I first moved into this area, I was absolutely shocked by the wide difference in cost between insurance companies for the exact same coverage! I found that you can get great discounts if you combine your auto insurance with the home insurance package, so I suggest if you are looking for insurance on one or the other, that you look into bundling them together. There is a website called homeinsurance.com that is dedicated to helping you find the best home insurance rate possible for your area. They compare several different well known brand names of companies, and they are certainly worth using to find the best deal you can get.

This morning I had to get up early and leave the house earlier than usual to drive two hours to a doctor’s appointment. This meant I was driving for quite a while in the dark, going down some roads that I don’t normally drive down (in the dark.) I really enjoyed looking at all of the illuminated Christmas decorations that people had been doing to their homes, businesses, and in some cases, even the cars in the lots of the automobile sales lots! I saw what appeared to be a VW beetle that was completely covered in lights – every square inch of the car was covered. It looked really awesome! I could just imagine someone driving that car all illuminated like that all the time – what a riot that would be!

Watches on sale
Filed under: Business and Office, Computers and/or Internet, Education, Food, Friends and/or Family, General Life, Shopping, Technology; No CommentsSeiko Watches make a great affordable gift for that “special person” for those of us who are on a budget this Christmas. They are one of the best known brands of watches, known for their style and dependability. Seiko has been making watches for over one hundred years!
I want to buy Teri a Seiko SXJT08 Ladies Gold Tone Dress Watch for Christmas. She recently lost her dress watch when we went out to a formal dinner that her company put on. She was quite upset about it, we went back to the site where the dinner had been held to look for it, and it was nowhere to be found. I think that if I give her this watch as a Christmas gift to replace it, she will be thrilled. These watches retail for $245.00 but I found that I can buy it for only $98 through the bluedial.com website. This company sells thousands of different brands, styles, sizes of watches at great prices, and they are offering free shipping second day on all of their watches for the Christmas Holiday season. Their website claims that all of their watches are in stock and if you order by 2pm on December 23, they are guaranteeing delivery in time for Christmas.
