Big Anniversary coming up
Filed under: Computers and/or Internet, Entertainment and Fun, Food, Friends and/or Family, General Life, Shopping, Technology;Comments OffThis February 14th is my grandparent’s fiftieth wedding anniversary! I cannot even imagine being married to the same person for that long, can you? Of course the entire family is going to be holding a big anniversary party for them, we’ve already arranged to rent a large hall to accommodate a large number of friends and family members to come and celebrate with them (and us!)
We plan to all chip in and buy them a new wide screen television for a big anniversary gift. The television they’ve been watching is very old and has a small screen. We figure that they can move that television to their guest bedroom if they want to keep it. We are going to order a beautiful large cake that looks like the wedding cake that they had for their original wedding (we found a picture of it!)
Naturally we are going to order some custom anniversary party invitations. Teri and I have been put in charge of ordering them. Teri likes the party invitations that she found at the storkie.com website. They have a large selection of customizable cards for a wide variety of occasions, holiday cards, retirement cards, graduation cards, baby announcement, religious occasion (like baptisms and bar mitzvahs) and they are all very reasonably priced. So I will take a look at the ones Teri likes and we’ll narrow it down to one or two and then run it by my folks. This is a very exciting occasion!

I was just rummaging around the refrigerator, looking for something small and sweet to eat. We’d just finished eating our dinner and I was in the mood for dessert. We usually don’t eat dessert because we feel that it is usually a waste of money and extra calories we don’t need. But tonight I was just craving something sweet for a change. I was really happy to find some lemon meringue pie snack packs in the refrigerator and I grabbed one and ate that. I think that snack packs are a great invention! I am the only one in the household that likes lemon meringue pie, so it is a waste to buy a whole one – I can’t eat a whole one! So Teri was sweet and bought a package of six snack packs so I could have one when I feel the “urge” come over me to have a taste of lemon meringue pie. It’s just enough to satisfy my craving, and does not “break the bank” and no leftovers to rot and throw out later! That Teri – she’s a smart gal – I think I’ll keep her!

Small feet need not apply
Filed under: Business and Office, Computers and/or Internet, Friends and/or Family, General Life, Shopping;Comments OffTeri’s sister wears Size 12 Womens Shoes. She has had a terrible time finding stylish women’s shoes that actually fit her. I can appreciate that – there was a time I was shopping for a pair of boots for a costume I was trying to put together and the style that I needed was not available in men’s at all, so I started looking for women’s boots in my size and had a terrible time finding them! I hunted for a long time before finally finding a pair that fit me, and then I had to dye them the color that I needed. I remember thinking how most of the women’s shoes (and boots) seemed to be in the sizes 7 through 9, and those are small feet!
Teri and I found a website that sells very stylish shoes and boots in large sizes for women - the smallest size they sell for seems to be a size ten. The website is called samantashoes.com. I was looking through the website a few moments ago and saw that they also sell shoes for men, although it does not seem to be specifically geared towards “large” sizes for men. I saw that they offer free shipping both ways, and that they also have physical location stores that you can to to scattered throughout the United States. (And I think I saw one in the UK, one in Australia, and one in Canada too!)

I was just reading on the Time.com website that a British television station has announced that it is planning to broadcast a show that was filmed documenting an American man’s assisted suicide in a Swissclinic. The man was suffering from an incurable painful disease and chose to kill himself. Assisted suicide is illegal in many countries, but not in Switzerland. So the man chose to go to a special clinic there with his wife and killed himself. The film shows the actual suicide, and the actual real moment of death – this is not acting in any way; it is real life. I don’t know about you, but that is not a show that I would want to watch – I am not “into” watching people die!
