We bought some pork baby back ribs a few days ago, and today’s the day we decided to cook them. Actually, Teri isn’t feeling well (she says she thinks it’s a migraine) and she asked me to deal with today’s chores and meals, so I’m “in charge” today. I’ve done about five loads of laundry and I decided to cook those ribs. I like cooking in the slow cooker, so I looked up a recipe for cooking them in the slow cooker. Slow cooker recipes are always so easy! I’ve rarely had anything come out “bad” from a slow cooker!
So anyway, I started cooking the ribs at about 9am, they should be ready to eat at 5pm. They sure are smelling good! The recipes I saw said to add the BBQ sauce at the start, but I wanted to drain the fat first, so I just drained the fat a few minutes ago and added the BBQ sauce. I think it will a lot easier to digest that way, and not so unhealthy. I’m sure looking forward to eating them!

I just saw a picture that Teri had saved onto our computer, that pops up as one of the slide shows for the screensaver. It was a picture of a couple of firemen struggling with their hoses; one of the fireman was getting hit it the face with a strong stream of water from the hose. There was a caption that said “Chinese Fire Drill – Ur doing it wrong.” Boy did that caption bring back memories of my teen years when my friends and I would drive up and down Main Street, hoping for a red traffic light so we could have Chinese Fire Drills!
I don’t know if they are technically illegal; maybe the driver could have gotten a ticket, I don’t know for sure. At the time it sure seemed like harmless fun, and we did have a lot of good laughs. There were some folks who were also driving down Main Street that would quickly realize what we were doing, and they would pace their own car to keep up (or down) with ours, just so they could watch us and laugh at “those crazy teenagers!” Boy, life sure seemed simple back then!
