Teri’s brother needs to hire someone to represent him on his California DUI charge. I told him that he could online and “google” Los Angeles Criminal Defense Attorney | California Criminal Lawyers but that I am convinced that the law firm of Kestenbaum Eisner & Gorin LLP would be a very wise choice.

I was talking to a friend of mine who is looking for a new job. He has been looking for a long time, and not coming up with very many opportunities. Fortunately he is currently employed and is not in any danger (that he knows of) of losing his job, he just feels that he is qualified for a better one and deserves more money. In this economy, finding any new job that pays well is going to be a real challenge. Unemployment is very high, and many companies are reducing their labor forces. All of the new jobs that I’ve seen advertised in the paper (etc) have been low paying jobs. Many companies that hire for the Holiday Season are not even doing that – they have decided to just “make do” with their regular staff. This is not a good time to be looking for work!

Clocks add a special touch
Filed under: Business and Office, Computers and/or Internet, General Life, Home and Garden, Shopping; No CommentsI have always been interested in grandfather clocks. Whenever I go into anyone’s home, if I see that they have a grandfather clock, I always ask them a lot of questions about the clock. Questions like “where did you get the clock” and “why did you get it” and “how long have you had it” and “do you still like it as much now as you did when you first got it.” I simply find Grandfather Clocks fascinating!
I’d love to have a few Grandfather Clocks myself. I’d love to have one in my foyer, in my family room, and in my den. Of course they would each be a different style. I’d love to have the one in my foyer have a storage bench/seat and hooks on it so people could sit on the bench to remove their boots and/or shoes, and store their hats and gloves in the storage bench, and hang their coats on the hooks. In the family room I’d like to have one that has enclosed glass shelves on it to act as a display case for our collectibles. And in my den I’d like to have one that looks like an old-fashioned street clock – you know, the kind that looks like an old fashioned street lamp post with a clock on top!
When I get around to buying one of those clocks, I’ll be turning to the 1-800-4clocks.com website. They have a huge selection, offer free shipping on orders over $100 within the US and Canada and great prices.

There was a lot of black ice on the roads this morning! I suspected there would be when I went to get into the car this morning and discovered that it had rained over the course of the night and all of the doors to the car were frozen shut. That’s a pretty good indication that the roads are going to be nasty! I was not terribly surprised to see a lot of cars off the road on my way to work. Some people just don’t understand how treacherous black ice can be. It is hard to see it on the road, you think the road is in great condition so you are diving normal speed (which is usually OVER the speed limit around here) and the next thing you know your car is in the ditch, or halfway up an embankment! I drove a little below speed limit, and some people were honking their horns at me, upset that I was driving so slow. I felt just a little smug when I saw those same people off the road! I’m ashamed to admit that, but it’s the truth!
