We have a really nice Florida room on our house, and we have been putting off furnishing it for too long.  It has been a “catch-all” junk room, and it really is a shame.  There is no reason we can’t move most (or all) of that stuff down into the basement or up into the attic.  We’ve just been too lazy to do that.  Now that we have Teri’s brother staying with us, we really need to put some patio furniture out there and really use it for living space.  Teri’s brother has volunteered to help move the stuff out of the room and into the basement and/or attic so we can furnish the room.  It would be really nice to put some high quality wicker furniture in that room, and give it a true “Florida” feeling. 

I’ve always like wicker furniture, it is durable and lightweight.  I especially like the lightweight part when Teri gets it into her mind that she wants to rearrange the furniture, she won’t need my help – she can move it herself!  And wicker furniture looks great, too.

Although I don’t like the shorter daylight hours that come with winter, I have to say that it has been rather fun driving a little while in the dark so I can see the holiday decorations lit up.  I really enjoy seeing the town put it’s “winter coat” on, the wreaths on the doors and walls, and all of the lights.  So many lights!  It reminds me of a fantasy world environment, much like DisneyWorld is when it gets dark and all of their lights come on.  It really puts me in a good mood, seeing all of those holiday lights.  I hope to get our Christmas tree out of storage this weekend and start to put it up!

Teri and I like to consider ourselves smart shoppers. We spend a considerable amount of time trying to find great deals on everyday items and on gifts. With Christmas coming up, we are checking out the Great Black Friday and Cyber Monday online coupons and Discount Codes too.

One of our favorite websites to check out coupons and discount codes is the 1-coupons.com website. We were just looking there earlier today and have bookmarked some really great deals that include a lot of free makeup items with any purchase from one of the vendors on their site. This looks like we can get a lot of free items with just one purchase – and some of those we can use as gifts!

We found the cutest little baby elephant ring holder on sale with a 10% discount coupon code that we think we’ll buy for Teri’s sister. She’s always losing her rings, and this cute little guy will help her to remember – after all “elephants never forget!”

And great deals on chocolates, too! Chocolate is always a popular item to give as a gift, or to buy for ourselves as a special treat/indulgence. We love to have a piece of chocolate after dinner every night.

This morning as I was driving to work along the rural roads I was struck by how many people walk on the wrong side of the road.  They should walk against the flow of traffic, facing the oncoming cars and trucks.  The vast majority of people that I see walking (or jogging) are walking with the traffic.  Apparently the majority of people don’t realize exactly how dangerous this can be, and that frustrates me a little bit.  One of my biggest concerns about people walking the wrong way on the roads is that sometimes they are pushing a baby in a stroller.

Now first of all, I have to commend them for walking for exercise, and taking the baby along for fresh air, that is a great idea!  But what worries me is the fact that when a car or truck passes the pedestrian that is walking with a baby in the stroller is how much dust and debris is thrown up by the passing vehicle right into the baby’s eyes!  This is a serious health risk for the baby!  I really wish people would use their heads and be smarter about what side of the road they walk on, especially when walking with a stroller!

As you’ve probably figured out by now, from the many posts over the past couple of days (if you’ve been paying attention at all) Teri and I love to go to Orlando Florida for our vacations.  One of our favorite times to go is the time period between Thanksgiving and Christmas because the holiday decorations are spectacular!  Especially at DisneyWorld, there truly is something magical in the air at DisneyWorld during the holiday season!  What is especially fun during that time period is buying tickets to the special event that Disney calls Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party that is held in the Magic Kingdom Park.

You have to buy special tickets for this; the event takes place after the regular customers leave the park; and is open only to the special ticket holders for the event.  Special shows, fireworks, parade, free hot chocolate and snow falling on Main Street make this a very special time at DisneyWorld for those lucky people that can go there during the holiday season.
