My brother wants to buy a new car
Filed under: Computers and/or Internet, Education, Friends and/or Family, General Life, Shopping, Technology; No CommentsMy brother served in Iraq last summer, for six months. He made so much money serving over there that he manged to pay of his house and have enough money left over to buy a new car. I’m not quite sure how that worked; I didn’t realize that the folks serving over there got paid that much money – I was under the impression that they were grossly underpaid! Well, be that as it may, he wants to buy a new audi a5.
He came over last night for a short visit, and we spent some time online looking at audi a5 reviews to see what the professional car reviewers think. We found some interesting 2008 audi a5 reviews on the thecarconnection.com website. It described the 2008 audi a5as an entry level vehicle. That rather surprised me because I didn’t think ANY audi was an ”entry level” vehicles! Anyway, the reviews were very positive and I think that my brother is going to go ahead and buy one within the next few days.

I was reading on the Yahoo odd news website that a man is suing his local McDonald’s in Fayetteville Arkansas. It seems that he left his cell phone there by accident, and called the restaurant and they found it and promised to secure it until he returned to come get it. Well, the man had nude photos of his wife on the cell phone, and somehow those photos ended up on the Internet! Oops! So the guy is suing McDonald’s for $3 million for suffering, embarrassment and the cost of moving to a new home.
The lesson to be learned here fellas, is don’t put nude photos of your wife (or anyone, for that matter!) on your cellphone! That’s just plain common sense!

Vacation lodgings
Filed under: Computers and/or Internet, Entertainment and Fun, Friends and/or Family, General Life, Shopping, Travel; No CommentsTeri has been asking me to start to think about our vacation trip that we want to take later this winter. We always like to go someplace warm during the winter, to help break up the winter into smaller, more manageable “pieces.” Doing that has its pros and cons, however; it DOES break up the winter into smaller pieces, but it does make it really hard to come back from a warm climate into the colder climate! Sometimes when we do that we find ourselves talking about just moving south and getting rid of the winter blues completely!
One of our favorite destinations for a winter vacation is the Orlando Florida area. We never get tired of walking around Disney’s Epcot Center! We love to watch the shows and sample the cuisine of the different countries there!
When we do go on vacation, we always try to find a good deal on vacation rentals of a house, townhouse, or condominium. We much prefer having the space to spread out and relax instead of being cooped up in a small hotel room. We find that we sleep much better, too. Whenever we stay in a hotel room we are always awakened at least once by noisy people walking down the hallway to their room!
We also love the convenience of having a full sized kitchen available to us because we like to go to the local grocery stores and stock up on breakfast foods, and then we always cook breakfast in our condo before going out. We enjoy the leisurely pace, and financial savings by doing that.
And frequently a hotel room costs more than a condo or house rental, so it just makes sense to us to try to find some orlando vacation homes to rent for our next trip there. The Rentalo.com website is a great directory that we plan to use to help us find what home we will rent for our next trip. They serve clients from all over the world and have an extensive list of budget friendly places to rent.

Realizing that the Sunday before Thanksgiving was going to be a total madhouse at the grocery store, Teri and I got up extra early this morning and headed out grocery shopping, hoping to beat the crowds. We split the grocery list into two parts, trying to organize it so that we each shopped in different departments, trying to be as time efficient as possible. I’d have to say it worked; we were in and out of the store in only thirty five minutes! I think that’s some kind of record for us, we’re usually there at least an hour! And, we certainly beat the crowds; there was only one lady in line ahead of us. We were home putting groceries away by 8:25am, and Teri just made some delicious lemon-poppy seed muffins for a mid-morning snack to tide us over until lunch time.
