My view on the world, as seen from whatever vehicle I’m in!

I was disappointed when I went downstairs earlier today to put salt in the water softener to notice that we never did properly put our Christmas decorations from last year away.  We were both feeling very under the weather when we took our decorations down and just tossed everything into a box and put it in the cellar, without even closing the lid on the box!  And then we just got busy with life and forgot all about it.  So now I’m kicking myself in the backside for not having followed up on it and putting things away properly.  Now we are going to have some serious dusting to do on those ornaments, having spent almost a year exposed to the dusty cellar!  I sure hope nothing is ruined!

I really love most of our Christmas decorations, and I think that Christmas decorating is one of the most fun things to do; I look forward to decorating the house and the yard with a lot of outdoor and outdoor christmas decorations.  Every year I try to pick up a few new decorations to add to the assortment, and try to come up with a new arrangement of what goes where so it never gets to look “stale.”

I was looking at the wide assortment of Christmas decorations online today at the collectiblestoday.com website.  Teri and I collect angel ornaments and figurines to use for Christmas decorations and I was most impressed with how many different and beautiful angel-related products they have for sale on their website.  I was most impressed with a wall figurine called “Dream Weaver” which looks like a Native American Indian maiden angel with outstretched wings and images of wolves and eagles on the insides of her wings.  It was really breathtaking, and I think I’ll buy it for our collection.

I’ve heard recently on the news that the big automobile manufacturers are now coming crying to the federal government that they need a bailout of their own.  I don’t know any of the details at all, but I would like to say a couple of things about that.  First of all, the big auto companies have known for a long time that we need cars that get better gas mileage.  The technology is available, but they have ignored the need and keep manufacturing gas hogs.  Those gas hogs are no longer selling, and that is why they are in trouble now!

If the companies get bailed out I’d like to see the government mandate that they will manufacture no vehicle that gets less than 30 mpg.  And I’d like to see the government mandate that they will stop sending “our” jobs overseas, that they manufacture all of the cars (and parts) here in the USA!

If you are at your wit’s end with harassing and annoying phone calls and want to see if others are having the same problem with that “from” number, there is a Harassing Caller Report website that you can access to see if anyone has dealt with that number and what their results might have been.  You can also add your own comments.

Don’t you just hate those annoying phone calls that happen several times a day when your phone rings and the caller ID says “Private caller” or “Out of Area” and you answer the phone anyway just to have the caller hang up on you?  Do you KNOW why that happens?  That’s usually a marketing company that is gathering information about what times someone is home to answer the phone so they can sell that information to another marketing company that wants to sell you something!

If you’ve been thinking about buying a new home, you might want to consider whether or not you want to buy an existing home or if you want to have a new home custom built just for your family.  Sure, existing homes are great, but they usually have a few problems here and there (like needing a new roof or new furnace for example!)  And an existing home probably doesn’t exactly fit your family’s needs and wants just right.  Most existing homes were built for another family in mind, or perhaps is a “cookie cutter” home that was designed to fulfill the “average” family’s needs.  Well times are changing, and you might want something custom made just to fit your needs.  The Schumacher Homes Video can answer a lot of your questions about having a superior quality custom made home built, and you may be surprised just how affordable it can be!
