    The demographics

I’ve been interested to be seeing on news shows the breakdown of the demographics of what groups voted for Obama, and what groups voted for McCain. The news person keeps saying that although the “young” group voted in record numbers, that their vote really did not effect who won the election. The news person was giving most of the credit towards different ethnic groups – the minorities turned out in record numbers and most of the voted for Obama, and that is why Obama won the race. Yet I’ve heard nothing about breaking down how many of those ethnic groups that turned out were the “youth?”

I suspect that the “youth” vote had a lot more influence than what they are being given credit for. And I have to really wonder how accurate those demographics are since our votes are supposed to be kept secret, how do they really KNOW what age the voter was that cast what ballot? I think that is suspicious, indeed.
