Great site for reviewing credit card options
Filed under: Business and Office, Computers and/or Internet, General Life, Money, Shopping, Technology;Comments OffIt seems that I’m always getting Credit Card offers in the mail, saying that I’m “pre approved” and offering me some ridiculous low rate. When I read the offer, however, I find that the company plans on charging an absolutely ludicrous high interest rate and a huge annual fee to boot!
If I were in the market for a new Credit Card I would go to the cardhub.com website to use their wizard to help me figure out which credit card to apply for. Their wizard is absolutely fantastic! You simply plug in the variables you are willing (or desiring) and in a matter of seconds the website brings up the credit cards that match the variables that you have plugged in. It simply cannot get any easier than that!

I was amazed to read on the Yahoo news website today that a council in London has ruled that foster children will no longer be placed in homes where the foster parents smoke! The ruling was made in an effort to protect the health of the innocent children from the dangers of passive smoking. I think that this is a very good decision, and that it would be a really good idea for all countries to follow that example and put those same policies in effect!

Learning about creating websites
Filed under: Business and Office, Computers and/or Internet, Education, General Life, Shopping, Software, Technology;Comments OffPeople who are thinking about creating their own blogs and websites need to learn a lot about the Internet and websites. The amount of information that is floating around on the Internet about those subjects can seem overwhelming to the beginner. That is why I’d like to suggest to people that when you have decided to go ahead and take the plunge that you check out the webhostingreport.com website.
This website will help you to find the best deal on the web hosting service for your website after you have obtained your domain name. The website reviews and explains the features of the best website hosting services. And what is even better than that is that they break it down into categories such as blog hosting and dedicated web hosting services so that you can get a good idea which one is best for the type of website you will be creating.

I don’t understand this back and forth business about California and their gay marriage laws. I thought that gay marriage was legalized in California and a lot of gay people got married this year – including Ellen Degeneres if I recall correctly. And now, with this election, Californians voted to overturn that law so that gay marriage is now illegal? What is that going to mean for the folks who got married when it WAS legal? Does that make their marriage null and void? Very disconcerting for those folks!

I’ve always enjoyed watching birds from our living room and our kitchen windows. We have a pretty good assortment of birds here; red northern cardinals, blue jays, robins, hummingbirds, nuthatches, woodpeckers, and even the occasional grosbeak and Baltimore oriole. Every now and then I’m thrilled to see a real bluebird as well!
For several years we’ve been feeding the birds during the winter, taking pity on the little guys who have to work so hard to stay alive. The big problem that we have, though, is the pesky little squirrels who ruin the bird feeders. I don’t mind feeding the squirrels at all, in fact I’ll scatter some seeds on the ground for them every day, but it really is annoying that they will then attempt to get seeds from the bird feeders and damage them to the point where the seeds just pour right out of the feeders! We know that the best way to take care of this problem is to buy some special birdfeeders that can “take” the punishment. It’s a better solution than trying to scare them away, or shooting them all!
So, we have decided that we are going to buy a couple of squirrel-proof bird feeders this year from the birdfeeders.com website.
