Shutters
Filed under: Business and Office, Computers and/or Internet, General Life, Home and Garden, Shopping; No CommentsI really like shutters on a house – I think that a house without shutters just looks sad and naked. Shutters give it a really nice finishing touch. The Larson Shutter company has a really nice website with not only shutters, but also shutter hardware that I’ve had a hard time finding in local stores.

Last night a friend came over with a DVD of the movie Ghost Rider. He said he wanted to spend some time with us, and watch a movie together. So we popped some popcorn and watched the video. I hadn’t seen the movie before and heard it was pretty good, but I have to say that I had my reservations at first about the movie, but after a short while into the movie I found myself enjoying it. By the end of the movie, I had to admit it was pretty good.

I’m not convinced that the recent popularity of Colon Cleanseproducts is enough to get me to try any of them. I was watching an infomercial about them today, where they were talking about how people can lose a lot of weight by using these products, saying that the process cleanses several pounds of old toxic fecal matter out of the colon. I’m really not convinced that this is a good idea – I think that the body does a pretty good job of taking care of itself.
I’m not a big fan of spending a lot of time sitting on the porcelain throne, so any product that is going to make me spend even more time there is going to be viewed with a lot of skepticism on my part. My sister, on the other hand, thinks that colon cleansing is a great idea. She seems to be obsessed with how often she eliminates, and how often her children eliminate. I’m not sure it’s a good idea to be that obsessed with it – I think that if you go a few times a week and you’re not in pain, it should not be anything to worry about unless and until the doctor says that there is something to be concerned about.

I decided to go do early voting this year. I’m planning on being too busy working on election day to be able to get to the polls, so I went down to the registrar’s office to do an early voting ballot. I was surprised that they were asking for a justifiable reason for early voting – they were calling it absentee voting, not early voting, and they said that I had to have a “good” reason for doing it – like being out of town, being disabled, being at work during the polling hours. So I filled out the form, explaining that I was going to be working all day and unable to get to the polls. It only took a few minutes before they called me up to the voting booth. The booth had a touch screen monitor that I only had to touch lightly with my fingertips to get my vote cast. So, I’m glad I’m done! My vote has been cast – I hope you go vote too!

Car insurance
Filed under: Business and Office, Computers and/or Internet, Friends and/or Family, General Life, Money, Shopping, Technology; No CommentsTom sent me an email today, telling me that he is shopping for Car Insurance for the new car he is planning to buy while he is living in London. He tells me that he has found a great insurance website that gave him a great quote from twenty different leading insurance companies, saving him a lot of money! In addition to providing a great deal on Car Insurance, the company also provides quotes on van insurance, house insurance, life, pet, travel, and classic car insurance!
In addition to providing these services, Tom tells me that they also have car data check services that you can use to check the data on any used car you are thinking about buying. This is a service he is going to use because his new car he is planning to buy is a used car!
