My view on the world, as seen from whatever vehicle I’m in!

I got a surprise invitation in my email yesterday from my brother to join him for Thanksgiving.  He and his wife have a very small house, and this year they decided to rent a hall and invite the entire extended family to join them for Thanksgiving dinner at the hall.  He said the hall can accommodate up to fifty people and has a kitchen.  He indicated that he will be asking people to chip in and bring food to share.  He also indicated that he is making arrangements for people who have to travel a long distance to stay for free in a local hotel.  I guess that it what surprised me the most; I know he is on a very limited budget and I just can’t even imagine him having the money to rent the hall and get hotel rooms for everyone!

I told him we would plan to attend.  Now I just have to get together with Teri and discuss what food item we’d like to bring.

Over the past couple of months Teri and I seem to have lost our way.  We have been so busy trying to win the “rat race” by working overtime whenever possible, and over-scheduling ourselves that we have become quite irritable with ourselves, our friends and family, and each other.  Yesterday my sister sent me an email telling me that she found a website that she really likes that she wanted us to check out as well.  She said it would give us a very important wake-up call about how we are living our lives.

I told her I would try to find the time to check it out, and this morning I did just that.  I went to the online television network called the Mindful Living Network and saw that it is a very complex website with a lot of videos and articles about how to improve the quality of life.  I watched a video about how to plan a successful vacation with reduced stress and more enjoyment.  I saw that this is essentially a television network that is shown over the Internet.  They have four different “shows” – the Alter your Life show, the Mindful Living Everyday show, The Way I See it show, and The Meditation Room.

I watched The Way I See it show(s) and found it interesting that the viewers are the ”stars” of the show, expressing their opinions.  I liked that a lot!  I can tell that I’ll be spending more time checking out this site!
