One of our favorite things to do when we go on vacation is to find and use condo rentals.  Hotels are all well and good for business travel, but when I go on vacation I like to really kick back in style.  I really like having more than just “one room” with a small refrigerator and microwave.  It is so nice to go away somewhere for a couple of weeks and have all the amenities of home.  Especially if you think that there may be a day when you just don’t want to go anywhere, and just stay “home” and kick back and watch a movie, maybe do laundry, maybe cook a meal yourself, just to “recharge” before going back out into all of the action of vacations!

I love having a place with a jacuzzi in the master bedroom, or maybe out in the back yard, or on the patio.  I love not hearing other “guests” running and/or walking down the hall laughing and screaming on their way to/from their rooms.  I also like being able to invite some friends or family to come join us for a few days, and it doesn’t cost anything extra for them to stay there.  Most of the time the price of renting a house or a condominium is even less than renting a hotel room!  For me, vacation time is definitely time to rent a house or condominium to get the most enjoyment possible during my vacation!

I was reading an article on the BBC.com website that details an incident in Athens, Greece, where the police did a strip search on a suspect right in the middle of a public street. The suspect was ordered to drop his trousers and his underwear right there in the street! The event was captured in photographs from an office across the street. An investigation into the matter is being conducted, and the police officials say that any police officer who participated (I think the word used was “implicated” would be subject to disciplinary sanctions.

I just can’t imagine what the police were thinking, to force a strip search in the middle of a public street? Were they THAT worried about their own safety that they had to force a man to strip down buck naked? I find that hard to believe!
