Teri told me that she discovered a great new Internet website to help us with our gardening.  She brought me over to the computer and showed me the site - it was a ShopWiki site!  ShopWiki is a relative newcomer to the shopping search engine, but it is probably the most powerful one because it lists ALL of the shopping sites, not just a few sponsored ones.  So you have thousands of stores at your fingertips, not just a couple hundred.  Anyway, this particular link that she showed me taught me something that I didn’t know before - that we live in the “Upper South” area that has special horticultural considerations.

I found that to be fascinating, and followed some links that gave me a lot of information about our region.  Then I used the site to find some wildflower seeds to buy to spice up our garden.  And I also used the site to find some bird and mammal deterrent products to help keep unwanted critters away.

I think this site is wonderful!  I love having the huge variety of suppliers to choose from!

Well, we certainly have heard a lot about Joe the plumber lately, haven’t we? What I find so interesting/disturbing is that so many people seem to think that plumbers don’t make 1/4 million dollars a year. Well, have you hired a plumber lately? My brother-in-law runs a plumbing business, and let me tell you something - plumbers may be a blue collar job with low status, but they make plenty of money! Yes, they DO make 1/4 million dollars a year!  But I have no sympathy for “poor” Joe the Plumber - he can afford to pay higher taxes if he is making that much money!
