    I was reading an article on the BBC website about how the Starbucks coffee chain leaves their cold water tap running all day long.  They claim that it is a matter of hygiene, that it helps to keep their utensils clean and that they do it for safety reason.  They say that it has something to do with a “dipper well” that they have.  I’ve never heard of a “dipper well” so I don’t think I can be a good “judge” regarding that.  But it does seem to me that running water all day long would be a waste of electricity and water, and that a more economical and environmental solution could be found.  I’ll be curious to see if I hear or read any more on this subject in the future.
