Computer printers sure use a lot of ink!
Filed under: Business and Office, Computers and/or Internet, Education, Friends and/or Family, General Life, Money, Shopping, Technology; No CommentsTeri tells me that she has found a website where she can order discount printer ink refills for our computer printer. She was looking for deals on printer ink because I’ve been observing (and complaining) that we have been going through an unusually large amount of printer ink in the past couple of months, and it sure is getting expensive! It seems to me that sometimes it is cheaper to buy a new printer that comes with a couple of ink cartridges with it than it is to buy new replacement ink cartridges later! I’m convinced that the low price of printers is a gimmick to hook the consumer into buying computer printer ink from the ink company. That is where the profit is!
Anyway, Teri told me that she found a website called inkjetdeals.info that offers discount coupons and promotions from participating merchants. Their website links to eight different merchants that offer deals on ink. What I like the most about the website, however, are the articles that give you tips and advice on printers and ink, such as troubleshooting printers, and tips on saving ink. They also have an informative article that explains the difference between remanufactured ink cartridges and generic cartridges.

I was marvelling at how technology has advanced the science of war. I was reading an article on the Time.com website about how the military uses unmanned aircraft they call “drones” to conduct surveillance and even to conduct missile launching missions. This is much more than simply launching a missile and hoping that it reaches its destination – this is where people are sitting in a control room somewhere and controlling the flight of the plane – much like one would play a video game. I find it amazing that we have gotten to that point, where we don’t need pilots inside the planes to fly the planes!

Cash rewards credit cards
Filed under: Business and Office, Computers and/or Internet, General Life, Money, Shopping, Technology; No CommentsCredit Cards have become a mainstay in the American family’s financial life. I recently decided that I wanted to get a couple more cash rewards Credit Cards so I went to the cardhub.com website to see what the best cash rewards credit cards were available “out there” in today’s market. I like their website a lot, it was easy to use – you simply choose what kind of credit you have (excellent, good, average, etc) and then pick out the options you want in a credit card. I chose excellent credit (because my credit is excellent) and then I chose that I wanted a credit card with no annual fee and cash back rewards. In a matter of moments the website’s search engine presented me with twenty six different cards to choose from. The website explained the details of each card, and offered to allow me to apply for any of the cards that it listed. I was most impressed with the way the site works.

PC vs Mac
Filed under: Business and Office, Computers and/or Internet, General Life, News, Shopping, Software, Technology; No CommentsI’ve been interested to learn that Microsoft is finally starting to strike back at the many MacIntosh commercials that have denigrated the PC in favor of the MacIntosh. For many years I’ve been mildly amused at the MacIntosh commercials that have touted how great the MacIntosh is, and how awful the PC is, but truth be known, every company I’ve ever dealt with uses the PC, and not the MacIntosh. I’m looking forward to seeing how Microsoft commercials will be approaching the situation.
