When I was a kid, I thought the term “Black Friday” was a gloomy term, supposed to be some kind of negative connotation with it.  That’s reasonable isn’t it?  The day after Thanksgiving, our holiday of giving thanks to be immediately followed by something gloomy?  After all, Easter is a holiday that had a gloomy history behind it!  Anyway, I didn’t realize as a kid that “Black Friday” is the busiest shopping day of the year, and that “Black Friday” is called that because that is when the retailers finally get their books “out of the red” and “into the black.”  If they don’t have a REALLY good day on Black Friday, then their year is NOT a good one!

When I was first out on my own, I had the day after Thanksgiving off of work.  Not realizing that everyone else in the world was going to go out Christmas shopping, I thought I’d take advantage of the extra day off of work and go Christmas shopping!  Boy was I naive!  I could not believe how crowded the parking lots and stores were!  And the shoppers were frantic and rude, pushing and shoving and grabbing things out of my hands!  I vowed to never go shopping on black friday again!

There is a website that enables people who want to take advantage of the Black Friday shopping specials from a lot of different online stores like HomeDepot.com by shopping online.  That is the kind of Black Friday shopping I’ll be doing - in the comfort of my own home!  This website provides the consumer with links to Black Friday specials that they can order without having to get in the car, find a parking spot, or stand in line!  That’s my kind of Christmas shopping!
