Remote locations internet
For the past several months I’ve been trying to figure out the best fast broadband access for remote locations to get for my Internet needs while I’m on the road traveling. I’ve found a website called www.getisp.info that is a resource for consumers that are thinking about getting or changing their Internet service provider. It lists the different kinds of internet access, and makes recommendations for which particular companies provide that type of internet access.
What I found so interesting and different about this site compared to other sites that compare different ISPs was that it had some informative links to subjects like the history of the Internet, how to speed up a computer, how to cancel an account, and how to increase your wireless home network’s security.
One thing that I was a little bit disappointed in was that the site does not seem to address the services that I’ve seen advertised on television where you buy (or rent) a little modem from a company and can go out in some really remote jungle or desert and still access the Internet. Or just be on an airplane, or riding in a car, bus, or train and to be able to just open up THAT is the kind of internet access that I want to get!
