Setting up a budget to save some money
My girlfriend and I have been talking about saving money for our retirements. I know a lot of people think that the American Dream is to own their own home, but we already own our own home, the only reason we have a mortgage on it is to get a break on our income taxes for the mortgage interest deduction. Steve, a friend of mine, and I were talking about saving for retirement and he told me that he heard about a website called bills.com that was a financial website that helped people to figure out their financial plans for the future. It includes information on loans, mortgages, insurance, and Debt relief. He said that they have a wizard where you type in what you are trying to accomplish and it helps you figure out a plan.
So out of curiosity I went there to see what it would say about our savings goals and plans. I went to the wizard and typed in Savings. It took me to a debt relief wizard instead, and insisted on my name, address, telephone number etc and led me to believe that I was going to be contacted by someone who was going to counsel me on debt relief. I don’t WANT counseling on debt relief, I was led to belief that this wizard was going to be a wizard where you plugged in answers and it would give you tips on how to improve your plan. That didn’t happen.
