One of the things that I have quickly realized about getting involved in setting up websites is that it can be very overwhelming for the beginner.  If you have not “grown up with” the Internet as a part of your everyday life, it is like learning a completely foreign language.  People need as much help as they can get when learning new things!  Although I consider myself fairly computer-literate, and use the Internet a lot for many things, there are still a lot of things that I need to learn about the Internet!  I’m not interested in learning programming languages, but I am interested in learning more about using existing programs to set up websites, and e-commerce.

I found a great article on web hosting instructions at the webhosting site presented by the webhostinggeeks.com.  This article explains the basics of web hosting in terms that are easy to understand.  They have a lot of great informative articles, and a lot of resources listed to help beginners as well as experienced webmasters.  They also review different webhosting services and give a lot of information about them, helping the consumer to pick out which one would best fit the needs of the consumer.

I’m very interested in trying to do more recycling at home and at the office than what we have been doing in the past. The problem I’m having, however, is finding local places to take our recycling “stuff.” Most of the recycling locations are so far away that I’m not sure that it is “worth it” to take the “stuff” there because of the amount of gasoline used to get there! For example, I have to drive twenty miles just to “properly dispose of” used batteries! I sure wish it would be a lot easier to accomplish these things! It would be really great if some retail stores like Staples or Wal-Mart would set up recycling bins for batteries at their stores!

Our office is considering using the Internet more intensely to increase and maintain our business.  We are going to be buying some additional domain names and creating more websites to accomplish that goal.  To be honest, I’m not quite sure if we need to create more websites, or simply buy more domain names and then have the new domain names simply redirect to an established website.  I’ll have to do some additional research on that one!

I’ve been reading the webhostingrating.com website articles and found some great tips for choosing a domain name.  In addition, I’m going to be using their reviews and referrals to help determine which webhosting service to use.  Their articles and resources would be very helpful to anyone who is interested in creating a website.  If you are thinking about getting a new webhosting service, you should check out their review section too!

I’ve been wanting to larn to ballroom dance for a very long time.  I’m tired of going to “functions” where people are expected to dance after the meal, and not getting up to dance.  So I bought a video tape for Teri and I to watch and learn to ballroom dance together.  It looks like a lot of fun!

When I was a kid, I thought the term “Black Friday” was a gloomy term, supposed to be some kind of negative connotation with it.  That’s reasonable isn’t it?  The day after Thanksgiving, our holiday of giving thanks to be immediately followed by something gloomy?  After all, Easter is a holiday that had a gloomy history behind it!  Anyway, I didn’t realize as a kid that “Black Friday” is the busiest shopping day of the year, and that “Black Friday” is called that because that is when the retailers finally get their books “out of the red” and “into the black.”  If they don’t have a REALLY good day on Black Friday, then their year is NOT a good one!

When I was first out on my own, I had the day after Thanksgiving off of work.  Not realizing that everyone else in the world was going to go out Christmas shopping, I thought I’d take advantage of the extra day off of work and go Christmas shopping!  Boy was I naive!  I could not believe how crowded the parking lots and stores were!  And the shoppers were frantic and rude, pushing and shoving and grabbing things out of my hands!  I vowed to never go shopping on black friday again!

There is a website that enables people who want to take advantage of the Black Friday shopping specials from a lot of different online stores like HomeDepot.com by shopping online.  That is the kind of Black Friday shopping I’ll be doing – in the comfort of my own home!  This website provides the consumer with links to Black Friday specials that they can order without having to get in the car, find a parking spot, or stand in line!  That’s my kind of Christmas shopping!
